Depends on how wet, muddy and amteur-ish you like it...

Thanks for the pics Ken! Your right, 47 hours of driving and rally was quite a bit to undertake.

Sorry I couldn't spend more time with you guys. I learned my lesson on driving all night then wheeling all day.

I know Jorge will like seeing that pic. haha

For others who went to MAR, I started a folder for pictures on the Yahoo Groups page. Let's see yours. Any other adventures as spectacular as Chris and Dave's.

Did you catch Chris's endeavor into that hole? He went much deeper than I did.

Hippert gets the muddy award, as well as the heavy right foot award...

Red D-90. I camped up on the hill. The upper area above the pond along the lake loop road.

That was a very muddy trip. I hit a tree again in the same spot that was just fixed a month ago from my run in with that Caddy. Sorry I didn't get to meet many off you. Next year I hope.

Damn, Keith, I'm sure I saw you about 5 times! There were only 3 or 4 of us Red STs...

Next year we need to follow through with the suggestion to get a D-90 group pic.

Did anyone try putting pics into the Yahoo Groups folder? Is that a good way to share photos?

From the posted photos, all your rovers look familar. We all must have driven by, behind, around, in front of, etc, one another a hundred times.

You can send them into me and I will get them in a gallery this week.

As I open my email now, I see David already has begun sending me zipped goodies!

I think we all saw each other at least once. Maybe more, we even may have talked as I talked to allot of people.

Ken I tried adding pics but I think my home dial up connection is too sloooow. I will try at work in the AM. Did Zach do like me and sleep in until 1 in the afternoon? He looked a little tired.

Man was the drive home looong and cold with no top. We stopped at 2:30am to gas up and Gary snapped a pic of me filling up the 90 in shorts, it was 39 degrees out! I made it home with wit no problems besides the front brakes.

For all of those who did not go, the hole event is not all about wheeling or competing, it's a people meeting event, a teaching event for those who have never been off-road before, a place to put faces with names for those of us that talked on line and a place too see a lot of very cool Rovers.

I think we hit every trail they had open over the weekend and ran allot of them twice maybe three times or more, but at the same time we pulled quiet a few rovers up hills and threw mud that they became stuck in (I think in the greasy mud out there everyone got stuck at least once including us). We also showed allot of inexperienced Rover owners just how capable there Rovers were by teaching them how to pick the correct line or what gear too use. I am not saying by any means that we were experts, but more sharing advice so everyone could have a good time. For example:

On Sunday 2 of the Disco owners in our group brought some kids that belonged too volunteers out for a trail ride. There were 4 rovers in our group and we were going too make a short trip threw the woods. About half way threw we ran into some stock Rovers that were having a hard time making it threw. We were more then happy to help them out (I think the kids loved the getting stuck and pulling out part). Often we were asked if we were just helping them threw one spot so we could pass and then leave them to get stuck at the next tuff spot. As soon as they said that we put them in the middle of our group and told them that they were now part of our group.

So if you are looking to meet some people, share some experience, and have a good time wheeling then I would definitely go again. I think everyone had a good time Including Dave who had an extreme lack of sleep and had too drive threw a swamp letting his interior get soaked.

CVC, did you see that I posted a bunch of pics on the Yahoo Groups Photos folder? Is that a good way to share pics? Also, what size and resolution work best for web pages? I shrunk to about 80k, 640x480, and I think 72dpi.

Oh yeah, Mike... You're a nut! And I say that in the fondest of ways, haha. How many other guys would be driving their trucks without doors or top in 39 deg weather, just to go to a Rover rally?

You're right, I had a good time, and Zach did too. He was one tired pup. Thanks for the lessons. Send me your email address again, and I'll send some more pics of you.

Ken I checked out your folder on the yahoo and it is about 80% full so you can't add too many more pics to it. I am going to e-mail you, Gary and Jim with my pics and try to get some pics from them. Then I will e-mail it all over to CVC and anyone else that wants the pics. Oh and the pics on Yahoo are resized to 400 by 400 I think? Yahoo resizes them automaticly too a low res. I think I may also set up a free account at tripod or something to put all of the pics on so anyone can see them.
