It's ridiculous...

Not a single drop of rain in weeks and now the sky opens up.

Have fun playing in the mud.

The James is still flowing at below normal level. It wasn't even muddy. I went down last night and it was peacefull as can be.

Gus, no website but Lumpkin's Restaurant in Scottsville (434) 286-3690 has four rooms for about $50/night. This late in the game they might not have anything but it's worth a call. No credit cards, cash or check only. They are outdated but clean and the owner is a nice guy.

Doug and for anybody coming down Rt. 20 if ROAV suggests going to Rt. 652 (Bridgeport Rd.) don't go that far South. The event is on Paynes Pond Rd. and you can access that directly from Rt. 20. If you go to Rt. 652 it will add 10 miles to the trip.

So if I'm using google to navigate there, is this a good point?

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...,0.571289&z=11

It wouldn't be a MAR without rain, but it appears it will just be rainy through tomorrow then dry the rest of the weekend, so pretty much perfect!

thanks,
charles

We should start a new thread if we want to discuss the pros and cons of oba vs air tanks and quit hijacking this one.

But I actually run an arb compressor myself with an air coupler if needed (standard baby tank though). I prefer to not use it in favor of giving it a nice gentle life and being available for my lockers without fail. I removed the AC from my truck for the express purpose of using the compressor for an OBA system and adding a larger tank, but have not gotten around to doing it.

An air tank has the downside of needing to pay to fill it, but it does have lots of upsides, a major one being portable which is useful if you have more than one truck and also at times on the trail. So it's been a good choice for me. I think both is ideal

charles
p.s. nice location for the air coupler Dan

Dave if you can figure a way to unfuck my life, I'll go.

My bad week keeps getting worse. Spilled a tin of bacon grease on the floor and into the cat's water fountain as I was starting breakfast this morning, messing up my pants along with the floor cabinets and my shoes. Then the Brick conked out going up the hill on the way to the Metro. The Metro was fouled up...as usual. Now at work my damn computer is constantly crashing on this one project.

Nice job dredging up old posts, you should be a lawyer.
