Ray -- Last question-I hope! The primitive camping ground.. how are the trails getting to it? Do you have to go through the three amigos crossing to get to it, or is there a fireroad trail that leads to it?

Ray just called from the road, he's without internet access for the weekend. He asked me to let you know, Ryan, that Beechtree Lane is the access road to the primitive campground and is easily traversed by a stock subaru.

Thanks for asking for me Tony... see you next week... stop by for a beer... (not sure which campground we'll be at... probably either primitive, or the other one by the trails)

I'll take you up on the beer! Look for a blue/green disco 1 with someone that looks thirsty driving.

Oh, and upon further investigation, it's "Beech Tree" 2 words.

I'm dealing with the logistics so let me answer a couple of questions - This year power is basically limited to the main tent. In the future we will probably have power outlets available much like PP. Above ground campfires ok means bring a metal fire pit that stands off the ground so there is no "scorched earth". Only the cornfield campsite access is right on the trail system. You have to drive a short distance on a public road to the farm road entrance from the other campsites. We can have this corrected for the other "primitive" campsite once we build a bridge over a creek. Ok now its the logistics guy answering questions about the trails! Better check out the FAQ page on the ROAV site for more info. See ya there!

This is why the trails dude should never answer questions...
Sorry about the bad gouge on the fires.

The rumors of my lack of internet were a bit exaggerated-though the crackberry is less than optimal.
On the camping (and I just confirmed this w/Chuck) we should probably calibrate it with this; there are four campsites:
1) Rally Control; right off sparta in the field across from the big tent. Will have porta potties. Is several miles off the trails.
2) Family Campgriund: described above
3) Corn Field: Wx dependent, on the trails though. No PP.
4) Primitive Camping: deep in the property, described above.

Sorry for the confusion and all my bad info.

The late nights caught up to me and I was rather unproductive last night (I'm getting old). I still have to get my lights wired, but before that I have to either cut or free up the bolts at the back of the tub to get access to them, so an early departure doesn't look likely for me. Oh, I have to put at least a half day's work in before I can get back at it. I haven't even thought about packing for the trip yet :D

Here are a few pics so far. Both Charles and I, and everyone I think, got stuck in the same spot!

Some really awesome shots you took there. Do you know who the guy was with the topless 2a station wagon with roll cage? Looks like tons of fun all around.

Like a pig in s**t

A couple of photos of me stuck in the mud.
I also have some video that makes charles look like a super hero but it'll be a couple of days because I need a new firewire cable.
