There is a developed camp ground nearby as well. Will be there in the new truck.

Admittedly it was tricky to find, but the details are on http://www.roav.org/

Actual location of the event is here afaik:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...8,1.20575&z=10

Tony, what's the new truck?

Alright Loic and everyone else, at long last the Google Maps version of what we've got coming up is here:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=
103665235481000370960.000473f7fe9cc79081b18

The GM link is...tolerable. I do like how the polygons fill in there to show you basically what is the actual wheeling portion of the venue. I can't post the gpx/kml/kmz tracks here so if folks want them for their own GPS or for Google Earth, let me know (ray.gerber@gmail.com). You'll note that the waypoints and the trails have commentary imbedded in them-much like Chuck's preview video and some of the posts I've had here and on ROAV.org, this is all in an attempt to broadcast to those that haven't gotten there yet what it's like. I'd highly encourage those wanting to know more to go the the ROAV site and in particular look at the three sticky's regarding MAR, the MAR work weekends, and the MAR FAQ. I'm biased toward the work weekend thread of course-but the color commentary will tell you a lot about what will happen two weeks from now.

It's going to be a blast.

Sweet. The mapped area looks like Africa. Coincidence?

Oh and read Ray's post fully as you can get the tracks off the ROAV site instead of bothering Ray like I did (because I can't read).

Def a coincidence...b/c before I cleaned this all up and got rid of all the accidental trespassing it looked more like Pangea than anything else...

The ROAV tracks were a late breaking aspect b/c Tommy had to change the defaults there to hang them, emailing them is fine too.

Let me know if people have questions-I was literally in the middle of nowhere last week so I missed the chance to tap in here on stuff but it looks like everyone's getting a good sense of where it is and such.

Great work Ray. I'd expect nothing less. I just signed up, so I'll be there with my garage queen on Thursday and Friday. Hoping to bring the wife too.

Excellent. Thurs/Fri should be good wheeling days; and I can show you where to avoid banging your pretty truck up too much.

I'll be down there either Wens night or 1st thing Thurs am...last time I checked I'll be working registration that am, after that I intend to be out on the trails/Rally Control (FWD) for as much of the time as I can be; for those that are new to the place give a shout if you want to roll in on various trails.
