The black D-90 in the first couple shots has CA license plates.

Nothing like a little 3,000 mile cross country jaunt before hitting MAR... That's dedication!

Maryland is home for right now. born and raised an east coaster. lived in CA 10 years.

I'm headed back to the west coast as soon as I can. East coast contributes to much rust to the 90. I never saw a speck when I had her in CA.
Now if the Govinator would get things right out there I might be able to get a job.

Is it just me or did you guys see way more Tdi powered trucks than expected? I knew I would see a bunch but it seemed like 25% of the Defenders were Tdis... or maybe people just like to put the sticker on their trucks?

Doug & Gustavo it was good to meet you guys!

That's what I was going to email you about. I'll shoot you one soon. I think a Tdi is in the works sometime soon.

How did the Tdi powered trucks do in the really deep mud? Was the extra weight a problem, or did it lug through unnoticed?

You calling us fat?

Don't think the Tdi hindered me at all. But I didn't get into the really deep stuff. At that point I don't think it matters as much as clearance and flotation provided by the tires. If that makes sense.

What is the weight difference between a fully dressed RV8 and say a 300 Tdi?

Hi Doug! It was great meeting you and hanging out at the auction... I'm sorry to hear I give you nightmares. Apparently some mud & crap got in the throttle body and stuck the valve open...by the time I hit, it was in neutral and both feet on the break, so could've been even worse...All fixed now, tho!

Funny thing is , one year and two weeks ago D90 idling behind me slipped into gear, smashing his light on my spare, and now my light on your spare...watch out for next fall - *tag* you're it.

Chris,
No worries. Like I said then, its all good. Had to have been worse from where you were sitting. I have decided to sell the truck so perhaps that will break the curse.
