Any pics? I saw a convey of rovers headed north on Rt 29 on my way home this weekend. There were two series, a 110, and a 109, all looking suitably dusty to have come from the MAR.

Great time...did it seem less crowded than previous years?
Curious what the official headcount was....

Some Pics

A few shots from the MAR. We were camping on the upper, back camping area.

I would guess there were over 200 trucks there, maybe 400+ people.

The "official" head count was 300, give or take a few when our labels got mixed up.
It was a good crowd this weekend, kinda quiet but in a good way.
When I left Pearls Pond at 3:00pm on Sunday, the fields were looking pretty good---no trash piles!

Yep, the first one is mine. I think next year we should all where hats that have our User Name and Avatar on them. I really like the rims you have on your Defender. They look pretty sharp.

ahh shoot, I was going to walk over and see who you were but it seemed like it was just you and your wife, so i didn't want to distrub you guys. I was there with Randy (with the silver TDI, though it wasn't there) and Jorge, with the white defender. I feel bad, next time i will walk around and meet all the defender owners.

I have those LR Boost alloy rims. they come on the 08 defenders. I got mine from a guy that was selling them off his 98 discovery.

Next year we should set up a time to all meet up and have a drink or two, maybe even a trail ride.

What size tires are those? And what type of lift do you have?

Think i met you Daniel when i had a drink with Randy,Jorge ect, see you driving by everyday Greg.I was camping with that drunken lot in your last pic. DUST, mine is coverd inside and out in mud. Had a blast at MAR. 12hr drive home with stopping for gas, food ect, left at 11.30am and got home at 8am. From the end of the Turnpike to Washington Bridge took over 5hrs, traffic was at a stand still. pulled over about 2.30am before i fell asleep at the wheel. Might of been alright if it had not of been for the whiskey till 3/4am Sat night will post my pics soon

Jimmy, I went out with you and the Boston crew twice. I was the guy doing the recovery at the big mug hole with you and Russ. I jumped into the mud pit to winch out that log. I had on the Camo hat, and helped you out when you smashed your nose against the wheel. I had the green Defender, but didn't wheel it much. I was having some over heating issues after the first day out wheeling it.

had a few beers and whiskeys before we hit the mud pit but remember you now gone midnight before we all got out of there, was good though. a few of us made it through sat night in reverse. jerik, orick, (the mad pole with your crowd) nose dived straight in where we was winching them up the night before, was a shear drop by then.

Dan- glad you made it this year and good to see you again. Hope to hook up soon and get your 90 dirty.

Jimmy- as always a pleasure. I seriously learned a lot wheeling with you this weekend. Thanks for the whiskey Friday night, we slept real well after that. We hit that traffic too, it was miserable.

Here are our pics: http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q..._photos/MAR07/

It was great to see you and Jen again. and we will be up soon before the year ends. I learned a hell of a lot just from that one mud pit we got ourselves stuck into. It's always nice have a good friend to learn from thanks Russ!

hey, that's my truck! http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q...t=IMG_1627.jpg

looks like we all ended up camping fairly close to each other for not actually meeting up.

Yes we did. From that photo we were diagonally to the left. I was looking forward to talking to you about your chop job a bit. I've seen your truck before and have seen you on other boards and I was just going to say, "Yo!". I took the picture just to get some ideas for when we either roll the truck or it becomes a dedicated trail rig since you did such a great job with it.

I gotta' say though, your truck seemed to leave a little too clean. What did you do, stay in your tent the whole time?

lol! ya know, i never did find the mud that a lot of people found. just have that layer of dust over everything. had to take off early Sat for a wake and funeral on Sat and Sun so didn't get to run as many trails or meet as many as i wanted. still, was able to run more trails in the 24 hours i was there than i have run in the past 3 years.

This was my first year at MAR and had a great time.
I meet a few D-90.com guys and saw a bunch of D-90s.

Here's some pictures

Love the airborne shots- wait I took a couple of those !

Ron figures prominantly in those pictures. The "southdown" imprint in the bank is classic !

Thanks for sharing.
