OK, nevermind. Got to Manassas, got a call from someone down there saying it's a washout. Any reports from the scene?

From what I heard the island got submerged early this morning, the crossing was effectively washed out with several trucks washed over the side. Trails were nearly impassible, only about 100 trucks left there at 10 this morning. This is all second hand, I'm sure more reports will be coming in soon. Glad I didn't pre-register . . .

Just got home. it should have been called MUD 2005.. The terrain was insane. mud was up to the middle of my wheels.. Chris Vitale and myself hit some trails on friday afternoon.. lots of fun then got caught in a truck log jam. Trucks stuck everywhere. Friday night we nearly floated away in the tent. got about 4" of rain. Met up with the the Philli rover guys and they had a great setup. food and a bar setup. it was fun.. Saturday morning the bridge was under water going to the island and we crossed but on the way back the water was ripping and pushed Chris and my truck around a bit ... We ended up bailing out literally saturday and we both drove to the Inner Harbor in Baltomore which took 5.5 hours. 95 was flooded in several places and the rain was insane. We did have fun crashing through the 2 foot deep water on the highway as all the other people were bottle necked up trying to go around it. I think Chris made a wave big enough to flood out two cars..lol We then made up for the rain by partying and eatting our asses off. Great time Chris.. I will post a few pics shortly. Chris lets see the few pics we got? IT was so wet, you could not take a camera out.

buy the way. THe truck aint perdy no more. mud was up to the windows and even on the inside of the windscreen. lol..

We left on Saturday am with everyone else. I saw Randy on the way out I wanted to check out your truck but the rain was driving me home. Very muddy! Thursday was great

I left Saturday PM after the Bargin Bin Auction. Even with all the rain, I thought the trails were awesome. Slippery, but fun....

I think I will retire my 10 year old tent, though. And, I'm not buying one of those Costco specials either!!

I got a few pics here - just not many "action shots"... More or less, mainly just the Philly Rover camp http://www.virginia4x4.org/gallery/t...s.php?album=24

Well just got back. All in all it was way muddier than last year but still not a bad time. I did get tired of running up and down hills with winch cables. It was ashame that most everyone bugged out Sat morning becasue it stopped raining at about 2 Saturday. Sounds like there were a few roll overs on the west ford from the island. The drive home wasn't great as Trevor G's truck decided to run on 6-7 cylinders.

Follow-up Post:

Chris and Randy it was good seeing ya again. Randy I wanted to drive your truck around the field but remembered after ya'll left.

One of the VTXS guys did it with our club group. Everyone was fine, apparently a slow roll when the rig slid sideways in the muck and caught. They say no real damage other than oil coming out the intake...
