I visited the Solihull, UK Land Rover factory last Friday and did the factory tour and the off road driving in a new 110 station wagon and a new Range Rover. I used the GoPro HD to take windshield view video during my drive in the Defender. It was a great time and something I have always wanted to do. Very nice people and the tour and drive was very informative. The Defender was WAY more fun to drive than the RR. The RR has so much comfort and doodads that its slightly boring. The Defender's way more involved, but it still gives plenty of help with Anti-stall and the traction control. The videos can be a bit boring in some parts, it was fun for me inside, but I realize it seems a bit slow when watching. The jungle course is in part two, about 7 minutes in. The videos contain the full Solihull course in case anyone ever wondered what the drive would be like. We snuck up on some foxes and a Series one while out driving. All in all, it's a definite recommend for any Land Rover lover if your ever on the island. The factory tour was pretty cool and seeing the new defenders in all shapes and sizes being assembled was the crown jewel. Enjoy!
*Videos are shot in 1080P with the water proof back cover. You may need to turn the volume up to hear the engine and ambient noises properly. I didn't want to risk water damage...
* We stop the vehicle a number of times while the instructor explains things, or to demonstrate capabilities, like stopping on a hill, turning off the engine, selecting reverse, and turning the ignition to perform a controlled recovery using anti-stall after a simulated hill climb failure.
