In typical LA fashion no one showed. We will be working on the truck all day tomorrow if anyone wants to stop by.

Progress today
Resealed transfer case access plate - only part that was leaking on the transfer case
Resealed top plate on transmission that holds the shift lever and the ground bolt. Odd leak but we fixed it.
Had the fly wheel resurfaced and it is back on the truck.
New cross seals, rear main installed.
Oil pan resealed.
Put manifold back on. New style gasket and new y pipe studs
Primed transmission crossmember.

Realized my new steering pump is leaking so I have some rage for that and my oil pump has seapage. These trucks are shit.

Ha. Probably because you only put up the location at the last minute! Not that I could have made it anyway.

Not that it would help you now, but if you mentioned it earlier, I would of let you borrow my R380 clutch alignment tool. Oh well.

Neil,

Do you do everything yourself or have a good shop. I need to change my steering pump again.

Oops wrong account - Barry

I do it myself, pump really isn't that bad, you just have to have a spare high pressure line and o washers handy just in case it gets threaded. I'm using the autozone pump that came without the green plastic spacer/washer on the shaft but the belt keeps it aligned, no problems or leak for almost 2 years. Drive it over and I'll help you change it at my pad. It's a slight PITA to reach the bolts but if i can do it..

Barry pm me your address and I'll see if I can stop by.

Neil

I will be in touch. We can meet up, do the pump and talk whores.

So the clutch is in and everything is back together. I never thought it would work after we were done but sure enough it drives well. Huge thanks to Jeff for flying in and helping me out. I still have no clue why he was so generous with his time. He clearly is out of his mind. Also huge thanks to Greg who drove over and really helped get the tranny back in. Something about lining up dowels. I wasn't paying attention.

Also honorable mention to Aaron for coming over and helping out.

No thanks to Brian who came over in his perfect truck and mocked.

Josh and I leave on the 1st for just under 6 months... we work on the USNS Mercy, so we will be going around the south pacific doing good in the name of the USA. It's a pretty safe gig.
