I can't make this monday... Taking the misses out to dinner for a late mothersday since we're spending today with her family.

Hey Guys,

I am still going to Jay's tonight at 6:30, they have the best dang quesadillas I've ever had. Hope to see you all there.

Right now it looks like the first Monday of the month has the least conflicts for a Happy Hour tradition.

Greg.

Great idea for a recurring event. Unfortunately I already have plans for tonight.

I second that! Great idea to get this event recurring; tonight I have a little league game i can't miss so I'll look forward to meeting you guys next time.

BTW, www.bigdogsoffroad.com is staging an event June 9-11 that should be fun as hell. I and two other D90 buddies went to their May event which was a complete blast. We were the only Rovers out of 150+ trucks. Check out their site and let me know if you're interested in meeting there and riding together/forming a group. The events are in Winchester VA which is close as you can find decent wheeling in this area I think.

Happy Hour was great. Just me and the little lady I met there. But the quesadilla was the best.

I make a vote for the first Monday of the month for the recurring NOVA 90 Happy Hour.

Clay,

Big Dogs sounds great. I am probably going to head out there.

Greg.

This would be a great chance to plan a huge trip to the Cove (bigdogs event) out in Winchester June 9-11. www.bigdogsoffroad.com

I was at Arlington Motorcars (on Wilson Blvd) this past week getting some spring work done and they'd never heard of bigdogs. They're siked and are planning to go as well. Good opportunity to rub elbows with some local LR mechanics. These guys are good and not affraid to do something custom if you need it.

I can't make it this Monday. They are usually good for me, so I say we go ahead with the "First Monday" plan.

Clay, I would like to go to Big Dog's so keep me in the loop.

Greg.

I'm glad you've had better luck there than I have -- while they haven't worked on my trucks, my two interactions with them have been less that satisfactory.

damn, sorry to hear that. i found them via a buddy of mine. they installed a new t-case for him and actually did it within the original estimate and on time. rare for any shop in this area these days. my experience was good, but i learned long ago you have to manage to your expectations. otherwise, you get burned or taken(difference being.. one you're aware of the other you're not). like everything else these days, right?

greg- i'm pre-registering this week. the process was slightly painful the first time i did it (april's event) but you eventually get through it. they are on a shoe-string budget and trying to keep costs down so if you bare that in mind it'll help. call me if you have questions 703-258-7739

It was only two isolated incidents, and both had to do with conversations with employees there, so I can't speak to their service.

That said, I work two blocks from them and I still (reluctantly) use roverland. Maybe we should see if they'll sponsor a tech day for us . . . LRA used to do it years ago and it was pretty educational. Open up the service bays, give some advice on what each truck needs, help diagnose issues, etc.

great idea and i'll suggest (especially if we think we could get a decent crowd to show). the guy managing the shop, Parker, is just that, "the manager". i haven't figured out how much the actual owner is involved in the day-to-day. will try to find out and let folks know.

I'm sure we could round up some people for that! And it'd be great publicity for them, especially if they're willing to do mods . . .

green SW. there were two green SW there at the same time, as well as a green soft top.

We still on for Monday? I've got to be in NY for the day, but I get back into DCA @ 6 if people are going to be there.

I just found out that I'm not going to have a sitter for the little one on Monday so, I'm out. Maybe a different day, the following Monday, or whatever works for every one else.
