All they had was the 10 year old Morgado

They were out of the 5 year Morgado.
All they had was the 10 year aged Morgado... cost twice as much!
I know Richard won't be disappointed, muthasnicker

Your timeline is flawed. No way you can even get to NC by noonish if you leave @ 10:30. You can't even get to my place in an hour and a half.

I'll see you guys there should be in Thursday evening. If anyone has any RURR needs from there to chicago or Chicago to there let me know

This should be my route...

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/McHe...9!2d35.5950581

It will have to be able to fit in a minivan and if it's greasy a clean tarp would be greatly appreciated. My MGB tried to kill my wife and I today and won't be making the trip.

Yeah (excuse my mouth but I'm in a bad mood) the fucking hood latch came apart around 50 mph secondary did not help a bit and the hood slammed back against the windshield. It was form fitting to the soft top which I think saved the misses and I from getting thumped by the hood. Of course it bent the cross bar on the soft top, hood is trash, prop rod for the hood is trashed, brake light switch destroyed, and minor damage to the drivers side fender. Looks like the hood hinges are ok though and no cowl damage.

Luckily I didn't loose control and we worked together to get safely off the road with the windshield covered with hood. Got it off the side of the road rigged the brake light switch with tape and happy thoughts. Then seeing I couldn't straighten the hood enough to even tie it down. I pulled out tools took it off and stuffed it in the trunk for the ride.

That car is holding a grudge against me for the way I drove it in high school.

Every time I get her looking good something goes wrong this year.

Few weeks ago with the fresh color on it:

The hood after attempted straightening:

Bill:
I drove MGs exclusively from the time I was 15 until 32 years old.

Several MGTDs, MGA, numerous MGB & BGTs, 1958 ZB Magnette Varitone, Mark III Magnette, and a 1947 MGYT.

Had a hood fly open as well on a newly painted MGBGT and it was a very bad experience.
After that experience I installed a hood safety device.
The device was made by drilling a 5/16" hole through the lower pan in front of the radiator.
Through the hole is an eye bolt with a very large flat washer underneath.
Attached to the hood is another eye bolt.
Between the 2 eye bolts is a short heavy black rubber bungie with a doog collar release on the bottom end.
You pop the hood release, lift the not so safe safety catch, lift the hood 2 feet then reach down and unhook the bungie doog collar button slide release.
Actually had other MGB hoods pop open and fly up until the bungie stretched and slammed the hood shut again.
Works like 10 muthalikkas and best of all gives you piece of mind so you can concentrate on your driving after the bad experience of the hood eject at 50mph!

Sorry this happened and hope this helps.
Look me up @ Expo, Bru, I have a whole Barn full of MG parts that I've been selling off.
Turned down a $18K offer on the TY last year, but probably should have taken it with a child starting college next year.
Nice B, BTW.

Got a B hood for cheap lol In all seriousness if you have any decent hoods let me know and how much your looking to get. Found one around here for a decent price but would rather buy from a fellow landie/mg owner.

I was kicking around hood pins I think I'll look into what you described as I'm not sure how I feel about hood pins. Going to have my wife photoshop them so I can decide.

I've been driving this one since I was 15 and I'm 38 now. The MGB was bought new by my dad, it brought me home from the hospital when I was born. It's family. It's just been a rough week, it blew a head gasket thursday and then this.

Oh and thanks it was pretty just a few hours ago and it will be again

You guys should be able to find me if I don't find you at the Lucky8 camp.

The hood safety device I described above doesn't show and works great.
Those hood pins are a pain in the @&&...

nice looking B.

Robert I hear you on that, I've never had them on a car. My bigger concern was ruining the look of MG with them. Of course, most purist hate what I've done with it so far anyways.....
