I'm picking up some tires tomorrow, the replacement engine will be at my house sunday. The all I have to do is put the motor in, replace the clutch master, get the tires mounted/balanced and an alignment. Should be simple right?

Thanks Craig.

So when can I expect you by to help Pedro? :D

If there is time those headers will be going on as well. Just not sure if there will be enough time/money left to get it by a exhaust shop to have the y-pipe reworked before conclave.

Thats all ? LOL

In 2008, about 45 days after the FDIC shut down the bank I managed a couple of states for (Indymac) my 200 tdi drive train cleared customs and became available to me @ a Baltimore warehouse. Three days before the Mid Atlantic Rally. Being unemployed I was able to do a complete tdi swap in three days and attend. I literally put the wrenches down and started driving to the event with no test drive of any kind. I made it 60 miles to Galpins house to caravan down with he and his wife and had to bleed the brakes as the pedal was like a marsh mellow ( I had converted to left hand drive while waiting for the drive train). I was also running with only a down pipe off the turbo- no exhaust. The starter on the engine died during the event so from then on we were roll starting it and making damn sure I didn't stall it out on the trails. Ah- the good old days.

I met Gustavo @ that event and by happenstance ended up traveling back to Maryland up the highway with him. He was in a D2 and I was blasting him with a straight pipe tdi @ 70mph through the mountains ( I remember smiling and thinking take that sucker). Who would have guessed two years later almost to the day he would buy that 83 110 from me ?

See you @ Conclave

Probably going to have to figure out redoing some wiring to the alternator and distributor. Since it will be a 91 ignition system and RRC alt placement. Power Steering pump could also be interesting now that I think about it to.....

This is going to be a serious pain in the ass.

Ray, if I make it your on
