Just got back from the Cove this past weekend. Some of the trails are pretty hard, trail condition were very dry this past weekend. Even "Trickle" didn't have any water in it at the top end.

We did run into some ground bees on "Death Valley" so be prepared if you have allergies.

I will be getting up there sometime Friday.
This past weekend I ran the following trails
HRC(HardRockCrawlers)
Death Valley
Boulder
Winch Only
Corum
Cobra
Log Bridge

I know of 3 vehicles that rolled or flopped on the following trails
A Chevy Blazer rolled on the big rocks on "Insanity"
A toyota rolled coming down "Pucker"
A full tube buggy rolled coming down a harder line on "Squealer"

I also watched 6 attempts at the "Mud Pit" on friday night. Big Dogs was offering $50 to anyone that attempted it and $100 buck to anyone that made it. The final score? Well.... the MudPit won, no body made it through. One vehicle got close but didn't quite make it out.

Looking forward to this weekend.

Did you run those in your 109? What level of trail are they?

Wow that's awesome. I've been really wanting to try out one of those Oz tents and had almost asked a while back (when it was looking more likely that I'd be able to come) if I could check one of them out.

I was asking more about

Is "Winch Only" really a bunny trail? I didn't know if he had a trail truck as well as the 109.

There is a lot of diversity at the Cove.
Plenty of mild trails and plenty of wild trails.
I've been 4 or 5 times but Dan knows all the trail names,,,he's good like that.

I believe Pucker is still marked as a green on the map. It's not a green

I'm pretty sure I crapped my knickers once on that trail.

I ran them in Mike VanCurens 88.

Here's a link to John Hunts "Big Dogs" page with a listing of trails and their respective ratings. As you all know, weather and time changes things considerably so this is just a rough guide, not a guarantee.

http://www.bigdogsoffroad.com/html/trail_rides.html

Here's my take on them:

HRC(HardRockCrawlers) 7
Death Valley 7
Boulder 6 with by passes for the harder obstacles
Winch Only (Down Winch is pretty easy maybe a 4 but there is a big washout around a boulder in the middle of the long steep hill that could cause considerable body damage. Up Winch only is harder obviously.)
Corum 7 This trail is a rock garden all the way up
Cobra 5 with some tougher obstacles. I did take a group of mostly stock rovers up here at a ROAV event. I still haven't lived that one down yet because I told the it was the easier trail :-)
Log Bridge 4 deep holes and ruts with mud mixed in. Right now it's pretty dry.

I've had my 109 on all but Corum back when it was still stock and close to stock with just a locker in the rear. Still running 750x16 tyres and the stock motor/tranny/tcase.

Don't believe he took the 109. He took something even nastier. I won't steal his thunder...

Just registered. Looks like you have another 20 mins to do so! And since you are not being asked for schedule, just do it now! [I was also waiting.... Well.... I did not have to!]
