Thumbs up Colorado Happy Hour

Seeing as how there's lots of CO 90s and 110s here, maybe we should all get together for a beer once in a while. If nothing else, to put a face with a name.

Location needs to be central to everybody interested. Castle Rock? No, Denver is not the center of the universe. (something the Solihull Society should keep in mind, but I digress). Anyway, we need a place with good beer and parking. There's an Irish Pub on Wilcox street, but they only have street parking. Sedalia? Larkspur? The Bucksnort in Pine? Any other ideas?

What times/days works best for everybody? My thought is we'll never get everybody to agree on a day and time, so maybe we make it a regular day/place like second Friday of every month at XXX, come if you can. What say you all?

Chance - I’m relatively new to the area, so can’t recommend a particular pub. However, I like the idea of moving the location each meeting. A work buddy has a group meeting every other week which is picked based on the letter of the alphabet. Between CoS, Denver, Boulder, and some mountain towns I’m sure there are plenty of good pubs to get acquainted with. Then we don’t have to worry about a ‘central location’. One month the meet may be close, next month maybe not – depending on where you live.

Off-topic – I like your avatar. Newfies are awesome dogs. No wonder you have/need a 110.

Good idea, I like it. Before settling on a place and time, let's get some more input from everybody else.

The best hot wings in Colorado are at O'Malley's in Palmer Lake.

Thanks! That's our 1 year old pup, Amelie. Also have a two year old male and a 11 year old female. Yah, they fill the truck!

Chance- I've never drank beer before, but I'd like to give it a try.

I may need directions to the bar.

Heck, why not just pick a day. If people are busy, and there's a better day, we'll negotiate.

I like Mark's idea, too, and would definitely be up for a beer or three when the rotation made it to to the north side of Denver or Boulder area.

I have a use or loose day that I'm taking this Friday. Knock out some choirs, fiddle with the truck, and have some beers sounds like a great day is shaping up. See you then. Mark

Great idea fellas. I cruised up to Sprucewood this past Saturday to hit the trails and found lots of snow. They have a great little bar in the middle of nowhere complete with a fireplace and cold beer. Not to mention there are trails everywhere (Rampart Range) right out their door. It's only about 20 mins from Sedalia.

Another great place is Bud's Bar in Sedalia (Hwy 67 & 85)- it's actually John Elway's favorite bar. I'm a Chiefs fan so it means little to me. Eek, maybe i should have kept that to myself.

In any case, count me in on Friday.

Not a problem. Figured you were out of town picking up another 110.

Haven't been to Sprucewood, sounds like a great place for next time. Sounds like the Bucksnort in Sphinx Park.

Yup, Bud's is fun. Gotta love them burgers. Add 'er to the list!

Yeah, I played chauffeur all morning and was able to get around pretty quick despite the traffic because everyone wanted to drive in the tracks in the right hand lane, so I just drove on the snow in the LH lane (of course that's on the 4 lane roads!). Amazing how many people were stuck on city streets, though. I have a 4wd and I carry chains and a strap when there's snow in the forecast (just in case). I'd think that with all of the weather reports, etc. people would prepare a bit better if they drive a 2wd car.

upslope!

Spent 4 hrs shoveling a path from the garage to the house. When I was done I turned around to survey my handywork and it was nearly completely blown back in.......

Screw it, I'm gonna get larruped. Where's the beer?

Rod, you oughta know better than that! Wait 'til it's over, then break out the 'Bota...

I have to say, driving home today was the worst conditions I've driven in yet....and the 110 never hesitated. Even when I couldn't find the road and ended up driving through the neighbors field.
