Gettin a little Religion. Pulled from the NOVA HH thread

Most likely need to start a new topic, but what would be the interest in doing a tech session/wrenching session on a regular Saturday or Sunday. My shop can handle at least (4) trucks inside at a time...(2) flat stalls and (2) lift stalls....and its got HVAC, decent selection of tools, floor jacks, stands, welder, tubing bender, notcher, BFH, fridge, etc. You guys could caravan, do a little wrenching grab some eats, do a little more wrenching...maybe do a Cars and Coffee and then come by the shop...whatever...thoughts

Thats a really good idea, some guys could get together and do some wrenching or mods to one guys truck, and then to another's the next and so forth and so on.. Even just general check over and discussions or maintenance.

Chip is close to Buz N Ned's, so VA's finest BBQ and suds would be easy access...

We do it in the warmer months, especially in Spring, ready for all the trips. THIS - is a great thing to do int he winter months. And will probably be on the cards soon...

Thanks again Chip.

It's a hell of drive to do some wrenching, but I'd be game to try it during the winter sometime. Sadly the lift would be most appreciated by a non-rover I need to get under and see what suspension bits need refreshing.

Buz N Ned's sounds like a plan too.

That place is very okay. The general public in Richmond votes places like that and Bottoms Up Pizza the best in Richmond because they don't know any better. The majority of things are made for people who don't actually care about that thing. This is why Nickelback and Chevrolet exist.

Truth. Growing up in Richmond I find Buz and Neds tolerable at best. I prefer Pierces but also will say if you want great BBQ, go south to NC.

Yep, that's the place. It's not bad, but Va BBQ is like Va wine, there is some ok stuff but nothing great!

For NOVA, Willard's near the intersection of 28/50 is the best around. For burgers, Melt in Leesburg.

When I lived in Richmond, the furthest east I would go from the city was to Country Style Doughnuts. My understanding is that east of the city is just a swampy wasteland.

Yeah, that's true, but BBQ Exchange in Gordonsville is pretty damn good. Granted, it's in Gordonsville, but whatever.

Damn, I think Pete just got bitch slapped. Two or three times. LOL.

Willards would be my reference point on BBQ. Good stuff - just had a mess of it last weekend for a family gathering.

Either way, I'm always open to trying something new, although "tolerable at best" isn't winning me over.

Anyway back on track. It was very nice of Chip to offer up his place for a wrenching session - I wouldn't mind getting a car up on the lift. Maybe Jonesy needs to bring the BBQ then?

I just had a few pounds of Carolina BBQ brought up, once you live there, nothing else usually works out. Unless you are in Austin or Memphis.
I am also looking forward to getting back in Church locally, as I have no excuse since Chip's garage is just a short distance from my house. And what a garage it is.

1. I'm so in in this I can't even explain it. Thanks for the offer, Chip.

2. I'll even volunteer to bring BBQ (pork or brisket, I'll put mine up against anyone's as respectable at least) at the first meet I make so you don't all look down on RVA BBQ (but Alamo is decent).
