We are out too.

Between weather and family obligations it ain't gonna happen.

Hopefully those of you still going will stay dry, I'm sure it will be a mud pit.

Well fellas, I'm sorry to say that I'm not going to make it either......

I just served Notices of Deposition this past week in my Land Rover case and I've reached the unfortunate conclusion that my time is going to be better spent making sure that I've covered all the bases in preparation for conducting those depositions. As such, I'll most likely be spending my day tomorrow hunkered down in the solitude of the law library......

Believe me, I'd much rather be hanging out with y'all! But, to quote the late Leonard Nimoy, from the script of Star Trek,

"The needs of the many outweigh.....the needs of the few....or the one."

So, when y'all are gathered around the campfire throwing back a few drinks, make sure y'all remember me!

It was a good weekend... snotty out on the trail since Thursday

so a quick recap..

Thursday was winching day every 5-10 minutes you were winching someone out (1 for me) we did 10 hours on the trail - ended up as a night ride

Friday was rally stage day - keep momentum and your golden... Just winching others , another 10+ hours on the trail

Sat.. got lucky - good day on the trail. we made it back to camp a little early and got ready for the dinner and raffle both were great - the BBQ was very good.

Oh and a classic burned to the ground Sat on the night ride.

I didn't even try to go out on Thursday - and no way was I going anywhere near Dutch John all weekend. We did Slab Pile, Saw Mill and Rocky Mount on Friday - it was very slick. On Saturday we did Dickey Bell and Slab Pile again without any issues. There were a lot of neat Suzukis running around for the Zuwharrie event. Lots of Land Rover carnage in the big groups.

I've loaded my pictures from the Uwharrie event now on my smugmug pages. You can see them here:

Look for the self contained Suzuki camper that had a drive shaft failure on Dickey Bell - its a really neat little rig.

Uwharrie Safari 2015 - solaros1

Since I was running around by myself most of the weekend I don't have too many action shots of Land Rovers out on the trails but I did try to document the carnage once the victims made it back to camp. I did run into a bunch of Suzukis on the trail.

That sucks - we were wondering what happened to Zack (in the full sized Chevy and rear winch) - evidently he was out there till sun-up with it..
