30A Sand Rover Rally

Most defenders I've ever seen in one place before....fun stuff. Should be an article about it in the next Rovers magazine. A lot more pictures were probably taken of the Camel Trophy defender that was there, but I'm sort of partial to mine....

nice crowd. hopefully they'll give some further advance of the ride next year. I'd love to set up a multi-day ride in the Apalachicola National Forest east of there

I saw some pics from this event on Instagram. Looks like a great location. It would be cool to have an event like this near a beach in VA/NC.

I was in Apalachicola last week on the way to Cedar Key. Would love to head back soon...just say when.

I figured that was probably the case. I'll keep an eye on this for next year and try to organize an extended ride for the days leading up to this event.

Yeah it's a shame he didn't post it up here as well. He is/was a member.

Hopefully next year he won't schedule it on the same weekend as the Uwharrie event. I would go to this one, seems like fun.

There is also eglin reservation with 250,000 acres open to those who get a recreational pass. It's nothing like what most of you guys post photos of, but it's another place to go explore around if you are down on the emerald coast/gulf coast area. It spans from 20 minutes north of this meetup here to around 45 minutes west of this meetup.

The Gulf Coast Land Rover Club does meetups on the base. There is some cool stuff (downed planes, a tank or two etc to be found) Lots of trails, rivers, etc to explore around. There is some pretty good wheeling but only from the washed out ravines/clay roads etc. There is limited camping as well.

Looking forward to hearing about this meetup when it happens again.

How often does the Gulf Coast club meet up? I'm in Mobile and would be interested.

Not very often unfortunately (or now that I look at the page, maybe I'm just not invited!) . Most of the guys are out of mobile actually.

Apparently they were out there! Here's the group page. Charles I believe is the president/coordinator.
