You won't need spares, you'll find that if you do manage to break something inevitably someone there will have a replacement or at least help you sort out how to get it back. Nor do you really need a modified truck, plenty capable stock. You should come down!

I don't carry any Tdi spares, but I'll be at MAR and have plentiful spares on hand for other mechanical failures . Plus, as Ray said....there's enough MacGyver's (and MacGruber's) around to get you sorted and home generally.

We already received over 14" of rain this week without a stoppage forecast until Saturday.
I think if we have a heavily rainy forecast for MAR, I'm staying home.
The 110 has become useful driving on the grass around an intersection filled with 3 to 5 feet of standing water.

Is it really raining that much in the tidewater area? It is super dry up here in northern Virginia and the last few weekends down in Southwest Virginia were super dry, as well. We were having URE dust-like conditions on the trails last work weekend.

Shoot, Looks like I'm getting pulled to Seattle for some work. Sucks, I cant go, BUT i get to go play in the mountains of the PNW for the weekend! :D Looks like I'll be able to make it to the Uwharrie Jamborre shindig, though. Is uwharrie mostly jeeps or more interesting stuff?

What is up with all these events going on in October time frame? Got MAR, Expo East, and Uwharrie.

That has changed. Pretty much rained every day Sunday through yesterday mid-day.
Its amazing how fast everything greened back up after 6 weeks with no rain.
Forecast for next week is looking like 70's during the day and upper 40's @ night.

17" of rain this week starting Sunday.
12" of it fell in less than 24 hrs.
Schools completely closed one day and still have delayed openings.
One of the 2 intersections I generally drive through was flooded with 2 - 5 feet of water.
There were several submerged cars and I had to take the 110 across the grass to bypass the intersection.
Lake Gaston has backed up into the dismal swamp and put out all the peat fires, but flooded out parts of RT17.
Residents have to drive Ballahack to 168 to travel north.
The Northwest river has an 8 foot flood zone which is up 12 feet.
People in that low area have several feet of water inside their homes.
Underpasses in Norfolk were completely filled with standing water which is very slow to rescind.
We exceeded the local rainfall records this week previously held by Hurricane Isabel.

Rain in Tidewater?
Picture of the local soccer field where the girls usually practice.

Please note, this is not the rally site.
This is about 400 miles SE.
Rally site is NOT flooded.

MAR and URE have been at the same time since the beginning of history. Expo east was a recent addition

Don't forget about the ROVERSCLUB Fall Trials in late October as well as Rovers on the Rocks in November!
