Anyone too cheap to pay for shipping on stuff you need, let me know and Ill bring it. That doesn't go for you Pedro. You have to pay for delivery.

Offer stands for any damn Yankee who wants to attend but doesn't want to make the drive. The Amtrak North East Commuter train ends/begins @ Lynchbug Va daily and I'm 25 mins from the station. Come in Wed night and grab a ride to the event.
Likewise Thursday morning we're driving by the Amtrak station in Newport News, VA.

I just hope Raub does not have a cracked head.
200TDI heads are known for it.

I'm too cheap to buy anything at all, never mind the shipping!

????

TDi heads are fairly robust but can develop cracks in the casting, especially if badly overheated. The 300 head seems less strong that the 200. Cracks around the heater plugs and injectors are pretty common and can be ignored if very small. Cracks between the valves are more serious as there is the danger that these will spread into the waterways in the head, and also that they may cause the valve seats to work loose and drop out of position. If removing the head for any reason, it should be throughly inspected for signs of cracking. 300 TDi heads are available new and surprisingly cheap for such a major component. 200 heads have been unavailable for several years.

Had a crazy dream last night, was disturbing like those dreams where you show up for school in 4th grade and you forgot to put pants on type disturbing. I had loaded my Disco up on the trailer and driven several hours to come to the event and when I arrived nobody was there... Because I had used the wrong address and driven to the Expo by mistake.

You do realize Pedro has actually given ME parts to return to YOU, correct ? Somehow it's like a reverse-RURR situation. Leave it to The Dro to come up with that one!

I've replaced 4 200TDI heads that have had cracks in the bridge between the valves which is much smaller than on the 300.

Too much packing and moving going on for me to make it this year. Really bummed. Sounds like a great time is in the works.

Decided to bring along my 6yo son to the event, his 1st MAR. Can't wait to see the look on my wife's face when he returns covered in mud with a permanent grin on his face, cussin, and spittin.

The early weather report is looking quasi "MAR-Like". At least no hurricanes in the forecast (yet).

We have plenty of dry space under the big tent and maybe the rain will hold a bit....

Rain just means it'll be harder on my liver than it will be on my truck!

Our 7yo will be there as well. There are generally a quite a few youngsters in the Roanoke group. He will have a great time!!

Has anyone defined the off peak hours for non-guided trail usage?
Let's address this ahead of time.

Robert -

The night runs appear to be "Off-peak".

There may be more depending on final head count.

If Raub is trailering the 110 up to do the head at Doug's, it makes good sense to pull it now while there is still time to see if he needs more than just the gasket.
