whoaaaaaaa......hold the horses

OK TO DISPELL ANY RUMORS/RUMOURS.....

MAR IS STILL ON

They may be considering a name change to MUD ATLANTIC RALLY, that would possibly be the only change. From the organizers mouth who I apologize to for waking up so early CA time.... .... but this will prevent any other calls to him today.

That's more like it! I've never seen one cancelled for weather, and we've had some really rainy events over the years.

Fireman Short will have to weigh in regarding the trails.

In years past, if conditions were too poor, the trails had to close to avoid damage.

This ain't Uwharrie, this is someone's private farm.

Rainy conditions certainly don't help these tight trails.
In 2007, my RRC donated 2 mirrors to the tree Gods on these very trails when conditions became slippery.

Also, in light of the weather, if you don't have a working winch....don't even think about it...

Just spoke to the man, myth and legend himself David Short. Everything is still a go.

Also, Justin challenges the rest of you to try and keep up with his LR3. Seeing as he built it, a hover-round should be adequate enough to keep up with him.

Talked to our daughter at JMU not too far away and the I81 underpass is flooded with 5 feet of water.
Students were walking around 3 feet of standing water in places.
The Shenandoah river behind Loftus Hitchin's cabin is way above normal levels.
Bob & Jodi have punted and am thinking about waiting for better camping weather at Uwharrie.

Good morning all from Sunny and dry California.

The MAR is still 100% on - no changes or cancellations. I have confirmed the porta potties, big top tent, and caterer all this morning. My flight home departs LAX at 11:00pm tonight and I should be leaving Dulles Airport near 7:00am on Thursday.

The mud puddles on the fire road "should" have a little water in them for us to play with. The main loop on the mountain has been cleared enough that even in sloppy conditions - we will be able to get through (keep your winch controller near). Finally - the RTV course should provide lots of nearby entertainment within walking distance of your beverage coolers.

Bring your Bean boots, gortex underpants, and a waterproof attitude. Game On!

Minor flooding on campus and around town yesterday. She says nothing ever stops down there and today looks normal.

That wasn't rain. Those were your tears because your truck is probably broken again.

Winter Romp was snow up to my waist and I'm 6'7, and the high all weekend was 10 above 0.

Isn't the weather challenge part of the culture ?

Robert Davis {who I have know since I was 3 feet tall) whining ?
