I have some passengers riding with me - if they can swing leaving Thursday evening, splitting the trip up seems like a reasonable idea. Friday morning seems more likely though.

6 Days to go!

Only 6 more days until the Alvord Desert Defender Gathering. We're currently looking at 17 Defenders and 31 attendants. The weather looks like its going to be terrific as well.

Would love to go. Such a worth it trip, even just for a weekend, you won't be sorry you made the long drive.

Will be waiting for many pics.

Passenger seats open in the shop truck if you want to catch a rideÖ

Looking to be a fantastic weekend - much drier than my scouting trip in May.

My clutch master cylinder has developed a small leak. Should I try to fix this before the trip (pretty tight now on time) or just bring along some extra bottles of fluid and keep fingers crossed? Also, is anyone planning to leave or swing through PDX friday morning and would care to convoy?

Ian

At a minimum bring fluid and the replacement. Maybe you will get lucky and not have to deal with it until you get back. Not terribly hard to do in the field if necassary.

I wouldn't let that go too long. The fluid will strip the paint from your bulkhead.

Todays travels took us to a hot spring in the sheldon wildlife refuge and to the crash site of a b24 bomber in 1945. On the way to the site one of the 110s in the group had the positive lead chaff through the insulation and direct short to ground. Field repair to keep it on the road!

Now that the event is run - wanted to send some thank you credit to Series-Defender Outfitters for their very kind donation to the donation table. Jason sent us a large box of excellent items to give away. As with all things they make the attendees were keen to point out the attention to detail and quality construction. Needless to say all of the items he sent were drooled over and went to loving homes.

The winch fairlead and bottle opened was a highly coveted prize and is destined for a traveling life in Baja and beyond...

Outstanding pic....and glad the items were put to good use, found good home(s), and were well received (I knew they would be). I was more than happy to help support your event, and my only regret is that I couldn't make it out there in person! Maybe next year I can summon the gumption to hop in my 130 and get to the "2016 Alvord Desert Defenders" event .

Special thanks to Jason Lavender of series-defender outfitters https://www.seriesdefender.com/
I was the lucky winner of the Aluminum Dash Vent Trim kit (CNC'd and powder coated). That was donated for the raffle. I have installed them and they look/function fantastic. They cleaned up my warped vents and they really bring a high level of quality fit, finish and durability to my truck. Thank you Jason for the kind donation and for supporting this event.
