Sorry I can't help you with a group buy, but I will say that having had a drum e-brake and x-brake, the X-brake is definately legit!

I made the mistake of riding a few hundre feet without realizing the e-brake was engaged when I had a drum unit. You won't even release the clutch all the way before it stalls the 300Tdi! Very strong holding power with minimal effort. plus I imagine it's easier to clean.

Yesi love the simple design and I need a parking brake I can rely on. My driveway is like a double black diamond

Its already brilliant that the e-brake is holding the propshaft (like what? 4:1 ratio of strength over holding the wheels?), then the X-brake is just really simple and strong. I'll post a few pictures tomorrow. It does get rusty (unlike the wheel disks) because it never slips and doesn't have a chance to clean the scale and rust off.

I'm a true believer as well. It holds tight on the steepest of inclines. But then you already knew that!

Yep, I've got the new version. It has a little skid plate too.

Mine has a little guard on the bottom, I don't know if you'd call it a skid plate.

Nope, that's all you need and the way Si designed it. It's just enough protection to slide the disc over a rock - that's all you need.
