For some bizarre reason, I thought Will Tillery had one of these handy

Loudoun RoVa might have one they're willing to sell. Dunno, but never hurts to ask. Almost in your backyard.

Bradford, there's a guy on landroverexchange.com that is selling a rebuilt zf for $500. i've bought parts from him in the past and his parts were as described. He seems like an honest person.

Good Luck

I have a friend (one of our LR Technicians) that still has one for sale. He is open to offers, I'll ask him if he's willing to separate. This is out of a low mileage '97 D90 that was totalled a few years back. Him and his buddies salvaged a bunch of things and he is ready to part with this.

Just buy my LWB.

It is not low miles, but it has had the fluid changed religiously and it is the HD version (because it is an LWB with the 4.2) and it has the proper style shifter for a 97 style conversion (because it is a 95), and it comes with the whole truck (so you can take the flex plate etc. off the back of the motor.

I highly doubt all of these applications use the same variant of the 4HP22. They probably have different gear ratios, clutch packs, and torque convertor lock-up speeds.

I've got one complete, just did a 2.5 turbo diesel in my 95 disco, 300 it's your. Everything but the shift is there with 156xx on it. Or 550 you can have the hole shebang 3.9 v8 tranny and transfer case.

They are not all the same and each application had different torque converters, governors etc . The transmission went through many improvements over the years. The 80's vintage bmw transmissions that I used to tear up in my seven series were no where near as strong as the later ones fitted to rover v8's. Additionally the 2wd version used in cars has an entirely different housing than the one needed to bolt up to an lt 230.

Bumping this thread as I am looking for a ZF replacement for my RRC. Looking for one that doesn't require reman converter, so one from a RRC or 94/95 D1. PM me with any leads. Thanks-Matt

There's a shop in Chantilly Va that I recently used to rebuild a Suburban trans. They were reasonable price wise and quick. Let me know if you want their contacts.
