As soon as it arrives!! So excited. I have never been in one of these trucks. I have wanted one since I was little. It should make for an interesting ride back from NJ through Staten Island and Brooklyn.

I assume you meant you have Never even ridden in one. In which case, all I can say is, Wow, now there is a leap of faith..

Fixed my typo. sorry. I was rushing at work.

Haha yes a leap of faith, but I have an idea what to expect. Like an old Wrangler but probably louder, rougher, leakier, and a hell of a lot cooler.

I am tempted to start buying parts now. I want an Exmoore console, LED headlights and brake/turn signals, BFG AT's or MT's, upgraded rear tire carrier...

Here is the truck

Not a bad looking truck. I wouldn't buy anything until you get it.

Yup, he might find it needs $2-3k in unexpected parts in the first few weeks.

Closest thing I can associate to driving my Defender is... If you've ever moved, and rented an old UHaul... yeah, something like that. But with much, much better visibility out of the truck.

Clean looking truck. Enjoy in good health!

Btw, is the car already States side? Pictures says no.

Don't buy anything other than tires yet. It's a great looking truck just the way it is.

Speaking from experience on my first drive post purchase, expect a painful ride (did they take shocks out?) some sweat (Is the heat is on?) some smell (is the exhaust pipe pointed into the truck?) and a few regrets. It'll pass and you'll soon understand the obsession.

Hahaha yes.

I texted the seller about all the noises and he said, "she's just talking to you!"

You guys are scaring me. To summarize what ya'll said, it is a painful, hot, smelly U-Haul tractor. (with good visibility) And you guys are driving NAS trucks which I understand are a bit more "tame"? I need to see a psychiatrist, I think I've lost it.

Second/third/fourth that ....

Base line the truck make sure it runs the way you want then start throwing money at it for the upgrades/flair bits..
Mine was 4 years into ownership before I started adding stuff other than what was really needed..
And I daily drive it

Nice! Looks really clean! You'll be happy.......one day! Jk.

After the honeymoon is over, you'll come to find how fun they are to own. Simple, and thus practical. Well, not at the pump, but otherwise very straightforward and a joy to drive because you actually HAVE to drive it. You've accomplished something when you arrive, and sometimes you'll be exhausted, but you'll always be excited to jump back in the saddle.

Congrats!

See that is why I wanted to buy the parts now... before I am using all my money and time chasing issues and never get to buy the "fun" stuff.

Thanks for the kind words and advice guys. I hope to be able to contribute to the community.

Haha, I considered a lot of upgrades must haves.. Badger top, roll up doors, tuffy console, stereo etc..
I started with a good one though and focused on the basics
