Talking WTB: Lunch for a '97 D90 owner in DC area

I'll buy lunch for you if we can meet up somewhere and let me look at, fondle, and take pictures of your baby. I need to see how the automatic transmission cooling is done.

I'm in chantilly.

Charles, I can't help you on this one, but I am curious how far you are into this conversion? I am in the middle of converting a '95 NAS D90 to a ZF auto myself. I have collected all the important parts but haven't started the teardown yet. I am trying to keep it 'stock'.

Hi Kip

It's been done for a few years now

The PO had it done at Never Summer Offroad (in TX i believe).

I don't have the inside console, the shifter just comes up where the std shifter is, so looks pretty stock inside.

Only issues I am aware of are

1. I have leakes in the cooler lines at some suspect looking coupliings.
2. I dont like the location of the cooler
3. It has no safety switch so you can start it in gear if you wanted

So I'd like to relocate/replace the cooler and replaces the lines while I'm doign that.

There is a guy that works at the Hoffman building in Alexandria that drives a yellow 97. Maybe you can leave a note on his window.

mmh ok. Not sure exactly where that is though. That on eisenhower?

Heck, probably wouldn't even need to leave a note - just need a quick look

I think its on Ike, you can see it from I-95, its an ugly military looking twin building complex. Dont be too sneaky, us military types get real picky about people snooping around under our vehicles. If you get arested as a terror suspect, it wasnt me who told you to do it!

LOL. You really think I'd look suspicious creeping around with a towel, flashlight and tape measure?

Thanks

You'd probably get less time in the slammer if you claimed you were trying to steal it!

Charles,

As long as your fondling doesn't involve taking out parts under my hood you are welcome to come by my home or work 1 day and checking out whatever.. I am in Gaithersburg off of route 28 close to The Kentlands / Quince Orchid HS and work in Rockville. Email me at darren@gcb-benefits.com or call me at 301 330-5300 x10 if I can help you.
