I assume it matters which unit as the bellhousings vary, right? You have a 200tdi?

Yes sir! 200tdi, but I don't think I need a 200tdi LT77 specifically. I believe I can use a V8 LT77 just fine.

But I think the LT77 itself is universal. I could be mistaken, but I think I can swap out the bellhousing for my existing one...

You also have to swap the input shaft which requires taking the box apart.

This. Box has some output shaft wear from not having a cross drilled gear riding (truck was a 127 used for contract green lane maint in Wales and was running a 1.6 tcase and 35 inch tires) on it but box shifted like butter. Was coupled to a defender 200tdi so assuming it is the later lt77s, but never checked serial number. I was the last to drive it and it was quiet and smooth. Didn't even know about the wear until we pulled the tcase off to ship it to Abe.

Ed, working odometer shows 120,636. Based on mot certificates etc that came with the truck that is correct.
