WTB: LT230 Input Gear

Have a 98 LT230 1.2 from a disco that needs to go in. Only problem is somehow it has an earlier style input gear that is not crossdrilled, and is not fitting great on the car. Needs to go in soon.

Does anyone have an LT230 Input gear that is the later crossdrilled style they are willing to part with? Located in northern CA.

Thanks,

C

EDIT: found one. Whoops only minutes after this post.

Is there not the mod plate fitted? on non-drilled units a drip plate was fitted. I do not have a picture but Ashcroft may on the web. I am going to say fitted to some?

No way a 98 would not have a cross drilled gear. I would be a little worried about the box. i would just buy a new gear. They are not expensive.

Yeah a minute after I posted I got a call from the shop doing the trans, tcase swap and he is getting a gear from ashcroft to be picked up by a local friend on vacation.

Red, that's what we were thinking. My guess is rebuilt box? Getting the correct later gear.

John Roverman,

no plate fitted like that. I have a 1.4 that is original to a 1990 car and a 1.2 for this one, a disco., my guess is no crossdrilled gear, and this new one that should have had it but did not. Only add on piece I have seen is an external pipe that someone ran an oil pump to the input shaft to get around swapping the gear.
