Looking for any Land Rover 90 (Defender) for not an arm and leg. Want something under $30K. I know this means no NAS or super-duper resto's. We are willing to put in the work over the next ten years for a nice vehicle. Want a properly imported and titled 90 (I know, like everyone else.). We live in Alaska but visit lower 48 often for work. Let me know what you have!

I think if you narrowed down your parameters, you might have more luck getting what you want. LHD or RHD? V-8 Gas or Diesel ? Normally aspirated or Turbo?

Well since there is one vehicle listed in for sale section that meets my original criteria posted, I didn't think I needed to narrow it down yet. I have found several on eBay and craigslist, but more often than not there are discrepancies with paperwork from no titles to VIN discrepancies. We are looking for a legal import with no paperwork discrepancies, already titled by importer, D90 from 1980-1991, LHD or rhd doesn't matter, turbo diesel, 5 spd manual, as little rust as possible. In cross-country drivable condition. We would drive it back to Alaska from wherever we find it. Not interested in 110 or higher.

Tom, have a look at this one:

https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/5599014478.html

I drove and went through it back in 2/2016 when I was looking for a 90. Nice couple selling it, they imported it and it's registered/titled in WA. Good compression, strong runner. Does need some work but fits your criteria.

Tom,
I am certainly no expert. But I've owned a few 90's and 3 110s. I currently have a 91 200tdi that's am building for my wife. It turns 25 next month and will go back to the states in the fall. It by far is the best engine configuration I've owned. I just swapped the transfer case to the 1.6 ratio one, it it keeps up with motorway (70 mph) easily with power to pass. It also has RX8 seats in it, that make longer drives a pleasure. Only bad thing is 90's have a small gas tank, even with 20+ mpg, your stopping a bunch on a long trip. Just something to think about.

Customer truck available that fits the bill... Already had the tdi conversion, new chassis, new bulkhead, etc...

Really surprised this hasn't been snatched up yet.
