I emailed ezaccessories and theirs are not hubcentric.
They can make them but costs $200/pair

I was curious about this term "hub centric" so looked it up. Found a nice writeup here

But this implies the wheels themselves need to be made to accept adapters, or at the very least the adapter should be made to work with both the hub and the wheel to truly be hub centric (or at least not lug centric).

I always have trouble between Hub-centric, Con-centric and lug centric.

I thought the ones with the skinney lip on the adapter are the ones to use ( whatever the name is ),
man I hope I did not started a can or worms, but would like to know how different on design ( not the proverbial definition but the essence of how they look ) ..

The ones shown on Charles pics is what I have and paid 88.88 per pair, I am so confussed ( not that is new )

The stock LR rims are hubcentric. A "good" set of hubcentric spacers cost over $400. Try Skulte in CT http://www.skulte.com/index.php/cPath/21

Should've been more specific, the spacer should be hubcentric to the hub AND the rim.

From what I can see from the pic the ezaccessory is NOT hubcentric to the rim. It might be hubcentric to the hub but there should be a lip on the outside of the spacer to support the rim

I haven't checked the RN spacer yet.

BTW, I've had friends in Argentina purchase the cheap ones off of ebay and they weren't happy with them. After spending all that money on shipping they wish they would've gotten better ones.

If the rim is in good shape, you clean the back side, and bolt it down properly you shouldn't need hubcentric rings on a Defender. The wheel will be Lug-Centric. If the rim does not have a hubcentric collar then it was made to be lugcentric. You can also have the tires "tire matched" to the rims. You separate the high spot on the rim with the high spot in the tire. If you notice on some new cars they sometimes will have painted dots on the rim and or tire or both. This is tire matching. It is hard to find a dealer that knows how to do that today, something of a lost art. Or you can get the tires balanced on a road Force Balance machine. The geometry of the Defender and Discovery suspension is not as touchy as say a Corvette that would require the rims to be hubcentric. my 2 Cents

Ahh, good information, thanks.

I always figured that LR made the rims hubcentric for a reason.... prolly because of the weight of the vehicle and stuff... still, I would rather have a hubcentric rim that worry about breaking a wheel stud.

I don't think the wheels are really hub centric. it does not actually center the wheel, look at the space around the hub and wheel hole on a set of wolfs. My VW has hub centric and they are snug on the hubs.

Point being that lug centric spacers work just fine on land rovers. I ran them for 35,000+ miles in South America loaded up on poor roads with no problems. That said I sold them when I got home. I did notice more wheel bearing wear, and getting less weight up top (not going wider) is the only solution for my problems.

What's the best reason for spacers? Looks? Taller tires? Wider tires? Turning radius??? I want them for looks, is there a better reason to have them? I switch tires and wheels between LT265/75/16 MT's for play and 245'75/16 AT's for dress up.

For me is turning radius. My wife took the 110 out for a ride recently and when the tires rubbed against the radius arms, she left the truck in the middle of the street thinking something was broken.

A few reasons for installing spacers are as you mentioned but most of us use them because we do not have a rim that has the back spacing that we want. You can order a set of steel wheels and specify what the backspacing is we want. However they are steel rims and not everybody likes that look. If you do add spacers realize that they do put more wear on the suspension just as larger tires do. You should expect more maintenance. At one MAR a Discovery 2, I think, had a very large heavy tire on the front. The suspension couldn't handle the weight and stuff. It came off on the trail and beat the truck down the hill.
