ISO?

"In search of"? That had me baffled for a day.

If you are thinking the LR/Ashcroft auto console, then judging by this image, it wont fit a truck with a rear bulkhead.

scroll down the link i just posted and you will see how it can be modified to fit one with a bulkhead. You will be hard pressed to find a genuine used one for less than that.

While I haven't tried to fit one into a 90 with a bulkhead I have used the Ashcroft console on a couple of auto conversions. We are going to put the 4.2 and auto into my sons 110 in hopes of getting the truck finished by Conclave. On that truck we opted to go with Nick's (of GM Ls adapter kit fame) Lokar shifter adapter for the 4hp22. It allows you to go auto and have a std shift looking shifter come up through the original boot in the floor.
IMO the auto console's look cheap, and eat up a 3rd of the interior room in the truck.

Probably because the source for one is obvious. Additionally I and a few others have started pretty extensive threads on auto conversions not using the NAS auto console if having an auto conversion look "stock" is all you're after.

All:

To clarify, I was hoping to find a used NAS or Ashcroft console. Sorry, I should have been clearer. In stock form they do not fit with a bulkhead, but can be adapted (cut) as was pointed out above & seen here;

http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co...e-console.html

I have yet to see an auto console that I really like. Having said that, I have seen several that I really don't like. The rig is going in for its A/C install, engine upgrade (tuned 3.9) & auto swap early next month. Doug tells me he plans to use a modified Tuffy console with a shifter fitted, but I prefer the 'stock' look. I would also like to use my existing console (especially now it has a concealed 1911 holster built in) but it doesn't sound like that will work.

Thoughts welcome.

TIA.

Paul.

So then I'm assuming you've seen the threads here where members have converted to automatic but kept the look of the manual shifter layout. Basically it looks the same as your truck looks now but it's auto.

Yep. What I should have done is sat in a truck with auto at the AMFM to get a feel for the shifter setup. That siad, I'm leaning towards an Ashcroft. Worst case scenario, I can likely sell it here & put something else in.

I put an Ashcroft in one of my trucks. Better made than genuine console but no cup holders or lock on the cubby. Good if you want that "stock" look. I bought all the other parts and pieces from them as well except the transmission itself.

If you know the answer, why did you post in the first place?

Thanks,
