WTB an early vespa

hi all,

anyone have an early vespa? must be 1960's - 1980s's.
any color is good.... red, black, silver.... just NO pink.
has to be in great shape, clean scooter, never hit..... repainted is ok!!!
will spend $500 - $2,000

it would be a great valentines day gift for my girl that i could use too.!!! (hence the NO pink!!)

not sure if i can post this here.. but, maybe someone has one in the garage taking up space.
thanks for the space chris.

thanks,
keith from copley motorcars

Funny how there's a connection between old rovers and old vespas. I've been pretty active in the NW scooter scene for a number of years. If you're looking for a vespa try some of the links below. You can also try contacting your local vintage scooter club.

And if for some reason you'd prefer a lambretta:

lol... If you buy one from Vespa Austin, you can get 16 free bags of leaves:

We have 16 bags of leaves. 16 BAGS! YOWZA!!! These would be great for: mulch, pranks, leaf wrestling or whatever your crazy imagination can come up with! The potential here is limitless! Bring a truck! Come get 'em! They're free for the taking and can be yours! You're probably wondering why we would get rid of this fortune. Well, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with these leaves. They are in MINT condition. We would LOVE to play with these leaves. We would love to pile them up and laugh and be merry with these leaves. However, this is a business. If the boss thought for a second that we play with leaves all day, we might lose our jobs. We would rather have jobs than play with leaves. But you don't have that problem! Take them home with you. Take them today!!!! We just need them gone!
The leaves are located behind Vespa Austin. Our NEW shop is at 1623 south lamar. But the leaves are out back, on Evergreen street. With all the money you're saving on leaves, you can buy a scooter while you're here! In fact, buy two. It's valentines day! One scooter for you and one for your sweetie! They'll go great with your 16 bags of leaves!
See the pics below? You could be this happy if you had 16 bags of leaves! The leaves are located behind the shop, on the curb. Evergreen street, off of lamar, just north of Mary and Lamar.
Don't call, don't email. Just come get the leaves (and buy a scooter) If this ad is still up, the leaves are still here, waiting for you to give them a new home.
If you are hoping to find one in the lower price range, skip looking in this town. Its a required ride for the "20-something overly trying for that ultra cool and unique look" trendy crowd, so any cheap one that gets sniffed out is usually gone fast.

Vespa's...D90's...Montana...FlyRod...Cabs...Heaven

There does seem to be a unique correlation between the LR and Vespa. My wife and I just returned from Sonoma and Napa for the wine harvest and this time we loaded the 1962 Vespa 150 on the back rack of the D90.

We had the 150 for sale at one time, but after consideration, we have too much in it to part with it at this time. We did a ground up resto on it 3 years ago and only have 180 miles on it. It sits in my man cave on display...

The correlation is odd...i guess it's the desire to be some where else than where your at? too deep!

My perfect scenario: Mid-July...The D90 parked along side the East Fork of the Flathead River in Montana, with the Hannibal Tent deployed...Me with my "00" Sage Rod and the Vespa for excursions to town for supplies and my wife pouring a glass of 1997 Jordan Cab...know that's heaven.

Why dont you buy her a 1983 bmw r65 with extremely low original miles. It is the perfect size for a female rider. I know someone who knows someone who has one that might be for sale.

keith, got out and took some snaps today:
http://picasaweb.google.com/beaumont...nKILV0I&pli=1#

from what i understand about the allstate, it was essentially the bike that vespa exported to the US to be sold solely by sears. they added a different badge to the front of the bike instead of the traditional vespa badge. there were a couple of other mods including a stiff front fork instead of a spring loaded one, a 125c motor instead of a 150cc, a unique rear tail light (square instead of round) and perhaps some other things. i changed those things by replacing the fork w/ an updated one and also upgrading the motor.

let me know your thoughts!
john
