WTB a pretty D2 with a bad ticker...

Morning,
I know most of you have Defenders but I thought maybe you could help me out?

I have a built 2000 D2. Pretty much all the mods are done. However, Mother Nature has been doing some work of her own and the frame rails have given up the ghost. I had a prior D2 I patched but this is beyond repair.

So I'm looking for a D2 with a blown motor that someone just doesn't want to put any money into to fix. If it could be dealer or one of your rover shops serviced, so much the better. I just don't want any rust so southern/southwestern trucks are my hope.

My plan is to have the vehicle shipped to me once I confirm it is what I'm looking for so Id prefer something un-drivable. Not a ton of money to dump into this after all the work so far so please don't send/link all the great used trucks you have. I don't want a new to me truck. I want a new frame for mine and an 800$ truck with a slipped liner is the best way for me to get that done.

Thanks!!

Grant

Have one with no engine sitting in the shop parking-lot within your price range... Shipping however is likely to be twice the buying price so I expect you are looking for local and should post up your willing to travel and pickup distance.

Hey Grant.. is this my old truck that's rusting out, or a different one?

Anyways... depending where it's rusting, I saw this a couple of weeks ago:

REAR QUARTER CHASSIS DISCOVERY II 1999-2004 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts

It's the rear quarter of the d2 for $639.. they also have the rear half for $1299 or the galvanized full for $4500 (that's getting to be too much in my opinion).

Will Tillery had some galvy D2 frames.
2290.00 Picked up in Richmond, Lexington or Roanoke VA.
These are not new, but rust free southern frames taken to the Richmond galvy place.
Don't know if he's still offering this deal or not.

That sounds interesting. Can I get some pics (specifically of the frame near the gas tank) and the exterior?

Thank you

All is well, family has gotten bigger (just had another son last month).... And I also bought another 2001 white gold built D2 recently because I'm not a smart man. Has some nice mods done to it, but not nearly as nice as my old one... At least I'm back in the game though! Hopefully I'll see you at Winter Romp this upcoming year.

Did you find a donor truck? I just acquired a 2004 D2 with a blown head gasket/possible cracked block that is pretty nice. It can be driven on and off of a transport truck. It's from the Southwest, so no rust issues.
