WTB: 997 Targa or Targa 4S

Put this on Rennlist, but in case anyone on here has a targa for sale...

I am looking for a 997 Targa or Targa 4S.

Open to any/all combos and options but ideally manual and grey/brown/navy exterior with lighter interior. Prefer <50k miles but well-loved and not dealer-priced is the real goal.

Located in central Texas but will drive, so CONUS fine.

I'll keep my eye's out here in Houston. But depending on how much you want to spend, you might want to consider the newer style 4S with the translucent sunroofs that retract almost (not the same, but similar) all the way back. My neighbor has one and I drool over it nearly everyday.
(There was a great Targa for sale last month at EuroCar Werks (my new mechanic) but it sold in like 3 days for $31,000.)

Thank you. I'm going to look at the newer style but the prices on the 06-10 are much closer to what Im hoping to spend.

Any idea what year it was for 31k? Im thinking had to be a 996

Have you looked on the Pelican forum? I just started a thread there entitled 'The affordable 997 thread' or something like that. I'm considering a 997 myself (hopefully a gen 2 C4 coupe in silver over black) in the next couple of years.

I also have a friend who's a broker who can likely find you one. Great guy.

It was either a 2001 or 2002, less desirable years....but a super clean Targa. Black with grey interior. I was thinking long and hard about it myself (also loving Targa's) but when I went back to pick up my truck it was already gone. Good deal, but I prefer the round front headlights to the 2000-2004.5 ovals. Since you're ready to pull the trigger, I'll keep an eye out.

Looks really good! You should upgrade to the LED Taillights. Here is mine with them to give you an idea.

What?? You can upgrade those lights to the new LED style? That just blew my mind and bumped up a Porsche on my priority list.

They are Dectane. Either those are Rottec are the best. Don't buy the crap on ebay. The other suggested mod is to upgrade the radio to an Alpine App Radio 2 which gives you Bluetooth calling and audio. Since the factory system is fiber optic, you have to buy an adapter kit from suncoast parts. If you have the Bose kit like me, that runs you about $800, but its worth every penny.

The lights are very easy to install, 5 min tops.

That looks great, thank you. I was told to look at Mobridge for the stereo.. apparently you can get bluetooth phone connectivity as well as bluetooth streaming audio, all controlled thru the stock unit display

Mike - yes, lots of plug n play options now to get some of the 997.2 perks

Just an FYI, mobridge and the other options to "add" bluetooth to your existing radio do not work well. There are threads upon threads of complaints.
