Arrow WTB: 95' TDi Discovery

It's for a friend.

Looking for a well sorted, well conditioned 95' TDi (300 OR 200 Tdi) Disco with manual transmission. Any color considered. Minimal rust. A/C desired, but not a deal breaker. Please let me know what you have by PM or email: ross.simpson22@gmail.com.

Thanks (for my friend...)

Ross

I believe in a bunch of states you need non OBDII for Tdi - Hillstrubl had a whole thread on it last year.

Some yes but there is a lot of bad info out there too. I get the registration changed to diesel as well.

This is/was my concern for owning a >95' Tdi. I'll be moving this summer, although it's not clear at this point where, so OBD compliance...or at least forgiveness, is important.
Shoot me the details, Aaron- I'd like to know more.

Thanks.

If MD can't read the OBDII they will send you to repair it, if you comeback with a receipt for more than $ 400.00 and still can't be read, you will be issued an exemption

Classic. Is it me, or does it seem like half of MD State laws (MVA related) are designed to put money in mechanics pockets...

Good to know; thanks, Gustavo.

A similar exemption is given in VA for failed emission inspections with repair receipts >$750. The kicker is the exemption only lasts two years. I had a 1-ton Chevy 15 passenger van that failed emissions. I was out of state and authorized the minimum repairs necessary to pass. They started the 'repairs' by changing the plugs and wires for ~ $750! I blew a flippen gasket over the cost. The truck still failed and I learned the hard way. It was a total scam IMO.

Only a small portion of Virginia known as NOVA has these preposterous problems because everyone sits in traffic pumping hydocarbons. The rest of the state where traffic isn't a quality of life issue doesn't have this problem/laws.
