Winter accessories

Getting ready for my first Maine winter with the D90 and am looking for any related accessories. I already have a drop curtain thanks to chrisvonc and am looking for a radiator muff for sure.

At what point should one install a rad muff? I have one here in Moscow, but this is the only place I've ever been where it got cold enough to need one.

Oh, to stay on topic, you should install an Espar!

There's a radiator muff for sale on ebay and RN has them. Definitely worthwhile!

When it takes more than a few minutes to get up to temp or the temp does not stay up at normal on the highway.

Follow-up Post:

On a Tdi, a block heater would be nice or even a fuel heater.

Since you are doing your seats over anyway why dont you do heated seats. My heated seats are almost hooked up and cost about $100 a seat.

You can also add another heater under the passanger seat.
The holes are already there to run the heater hoses.

Gary FYI there will be a trail clean up for the Winter Romp in the next couple of weeks if you are interested.

Seats are already done and I never even thought of getting heated ones. Doh!

I would be up for a trail clean-up as long as I don't have to destroy my truck or display my total lack of driving skills doing it. You, Dennis, and Jimmy scared the crap out of me at the last Romp but it was the most fun I've had in years.

I would like to shot for dec 1st and 2nd. I need to check with Bruce to see if that is ok.

No No you wont destroy your truck, that will buff out, its only flat on the bottom, you can make it.

it is just clearing trail and doing a little wheeling not big time wheeling. If you have some lift and decent tires you can do most of the romp.

Wouldn't miss it. The NH liquor store in Portsmouth stocks some very nice single malt this time of year.

regarding cold weather driving... I have a 12v electric blanket that heats up in less than a minute, it is so nice to have under your butt and then wrapped on your lap on those frigid winter morning commutes!!!

enjoy your rover!!

~Steve

I've had 3 or 4 dreams in the last month about driving my 90 in the snow. first getting stuck, and then trying again and getting through the trail.. and I usually never remember my dreams... weird
