Wanted to buy: 1993 NAS Defender 110

Looking for a 110 to build up for a shop truck. Beat and nasty is OK, great shape OK too.
Cash in hand. Thanks in advance.

Looks too nice to do what I want to do to it, especially with the super low miles.

That sounds fun, but no.
We need to make a show car for customers to come see and test drive.
We'll change a lot so I rather not start with a 29K mint original.

Really? It looked so authentic with the slow leak on the rear tire, too.

Well anyway, I saw this one the other day, too. Also under $50k, and has some stuff you can sell off or give to me.

1993 Land Rover Defender 110 NAS with 300tdi Diesel engine. I have spent untold amounts of money on this truck. I have done so much since these pictures were taken. Had the entire roll cage, bumpers, and brush guard powder coated black. The truck has front and rear Warn winches. Air locker in the front. Black wing top protectors. All new later model door hinges that do not corrode as easily. All stainless hardware. I have spent a lot of time and money on this truck but it is time to let it go. Truck runs and drives out GREAT. Excellent fuel economy. If you are looking at this truck then you probably already know quite a bit about them. Asking $49,999 423.316.7104

Oh sweet sweetnesss. (Although rear Warn with a front locker is an interesting choice...)

The best part about being a Disco guy is after drinking 8 or 9 beers, getting on the internet and emailing people about trucks, I'm only on the hook for $3k when I wake up the next morning

I talked to this owner. He is a car broker. It sounded like he has had this one for a while as his personal car. New powder coat on cage and brush bar. PO put in the tdi. Then I asked what the story was.....flood, fire, other? He said "Oh, long story. It will take 20 min to tell you. I will call you back in a minute." He called me back later the same day but we never connected.

If it has a clean title it might not be bad. The engine looks clean in the tiny pics but I don''t know enough about it. It could all be in the wrong spots.

I'm guessing the Title and the 20 minute story are related...

i'm guessing that TDI is 280/500 (see related post): http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...&highlight=tdi.

I think the guy got it for a pittance compared to what he's asking. Salvage title due to previous engine fire.
