Wanted :This style top

I am looking for this type of top
At least if you guys know what part number it is, my search will go better.
It is the only one that seems to fit over the NAS roll cage. And its dark enought to go with my monza red well.
Any thoughts or opinions on this type of top?

thanks guys
-J

That is a removable fiberglass hard top. I am pretty sure you cannot get a new one as they have been discontinued. They come up for sale here on the d90 forum. Be sure to check the condition of any used tops as they tend to crack a fade over time. Good luck with your search.

It it true that you do not have to remove the roll cage though?
that would make it worth while for me. And what do these things normally run?

You'll pay at least a thousand, more like 1500, and the problem is that they usually arent for sale locally to you so shipping is necessary and the tops dont ship well. I also dont want you to get the idea that they are 1) really nice 2) easy to take on and off and 3) very durable. I think the soft top is more water tight unless you attack the hard-top with silly-cone.

My local LR dealer says that they can still order one for you...they're expensive new from the dealer ($2500 or $3000 I think)

I supposedly bought the "last one" from british pacific like 2 years ago. It was around 2700 each. I have one on my 94 and it faded, I also have one on my 97 and that has not faded because I armor all it once a week. I was planning on painting or rhino lining the other one but I'm wondering if that'll give me more wind drag. I've never seen a used one for sale that didn't have at least one crack or weathered window seals.

Isn't ArmorAll bad for it??? Especially being in the sun. I was told marine wax was the way to go.

I found one that was in a few more pieces than it should have been sent it to a shop and had it rebiult and painted. thickend up all the stress points with fiberglass. the rebuild and paint ran $2000

The Defender, having the aerodynamics of a garage door, a little rhino lining is not going to blow your fuel mileage. I am guessing

liner

I think the line-x or whatever type you like would look really nice with my monza red.

If anyone is selling one of those anytime soon lemme know.
Those tops look good.

Jason,
Good luck finding a hardtop, I would at least contact Land Rover in Indy or Chicago depending on where you live. I bought mine from Europarts three years ago for $2,300 shipped. I don't think Mohammed is in business anymore. I am in Indianapolis and West Lafayette so let me know if you need help in putting it on as I just went through the three hour ordeal for the winter. It is pretty delicate as some of my fiberglass pieces have started cracking after three years.
