Wanted RRC Beater

I'm looking for a cheap RRC SWB that runs. Doesn't need to look nice, I'm expecting dents and dings and to put some TLC in her.

$1000-$1800

TIA,
Jesse

There's one on DC craigslist now, was on discoweb -- '89 white swb that needs floor patching front and rear. Asking $1000. It's in Nova, I'd be happy to check it out for ya.

Or, if you want to spend a little more, I'm going to be selling my '93 lwb.

Tony

Anthony,
What's a little more?

George,
Sending email

All - That's why I love this board. I really appreciate the support and soon will be roverless no more!

I'd like to get $3750. 1993 lwb, black (2-3 year old respray that doesn't look horrible), some dents and dings, liftgate is rusty but works, usual RRC fun with windows. New stereo and speakers, new headliner, ARB winch front bumper, will include a Tmaxx 12K winch and line (uninstalled), 31" mtrs (new style off of a rubicon), coil conversion with a modicum of lift, new radiator (1 month), new thermostat, Hella 2000s on the front, working seats, recent VA inspection, working AC, new oil cooler lines, thule rack on top, factory waterproof rear seat cover, rubber front floor mats. While she won't win any beauty pageants, she's a good truck that, like all rovers, needs some love every now and then. It's been my daily driver/home depot truck for 2-3 years. Was serviced at Land Rover Alexandria or Treasured Motorcars all it's life. Fresh Mobil 1. At this point it's a great candidate for a trail truck -- a lot of the expensive parts are on there (ARB and winch, tires) -- throw some 2" RT springs on it and have a field day.

Keep an eye on discoweb. A 95 LWB went for 2500 and a 93 LWB went for 1500 of course not modded like Abrooks truck.

If you are going to keep it a while I would hold out and spend a little more and get a 95.

Down here in Kalifornia, theres a kid I know with an 87 RRC with a gillion miles (just kidding, more like 100,000 ish). Its white, has a few dents, tan interior, 3.5 EFI and I know he put on new head gaskets a year or two ago. I think its in the $300-$500 range now, but originally he wanted a grand. I originally wanted it just for its axles and drive train, but I'm sure he hasn't sold it yet. Gotta call him and check again, last time he said it was sitting in his mom's front driveway and she wants it gone.

That's what I'm talking about, but damn is Cali a long way from VA...

I'm planning on just biding my time till I find the right one, just like the 90. I know it'll come up.

Anthony, you've already done all the stuff that I want to do. I'll pass, but it'll go quick when you decide to pull the trigger. I checked out that one on Craigslist too, you should see the hole in the floorboard. I was expecting the typical rot, but man, I can't believe the seat hasn't fallen through...

Sounds like you'd be a step ahead then

There's a bit of wiggle room in pricing as well as a consideration for trades for a pickup truck.

Well I do have an F-150, but my company owns it...wonder if they'd miss it? Of course, it's the reason I'm getting rid of the Jetta for "less" reliable transportation so it'd kinda be counterintuitive.

I've got an '89 RRC with series one Disco trans, tranfercase and rear axle installed, OME lift and original engine. I'd let it go somewhere in your price range depending on whether you want the winch bumper and tires. I'm in VA near the MAR site West of Richmond. email me if you are interested: lr88"at"aol.com
