Wanted: Rover Mechanics

Experienced Rover mechanics wanted. Excellent work environment, good pay, benefits (paid sick days, paid vacation days, paid BC/BS health insurance and more). Candidates should work well with others, have tools (special tools are provided) and be willing to learn the ins and outs of custom work. Attention to detail and a drive for getting the job done right the first time are a must.

Email your resume to info@eastcoastrover.com

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm, all the fun without all the challenges of being a small business owner. I feel the pull to the North....

Trevor... No you don't. Make me a 130 with a 6BT where the 300 goes. It has to tow at least 13,000 lbs from a gooseneck. Oh and put a B&W in the bed.

Please.

I said please, that has to count for something.

Normally I don't start asking poking questions like this, but I just have to know.

Looking for experienced ASE certified I assume, and not enthusiastic motorheads who really just wrench in their driveway, correct?

ASE certified is not required. In fact dealership guys (the ones who are typically ASE certified) tend to do poorly at ECR because in a lot of cases (not all of course) they only know how to replace parts that a computer tells them to replace. They usually know little about true vehicle construction from the ground up and little about diagnostics (by ear and hand without a computer). Those guys are great at replacing a water pump but tend to have blank stares when you tell them to take the entire vehicle apart and remember how to put it back together. You need to be a few steps above driveway work but its a lot about memory (can you remember how to put a truck back together that you took apart a month ago) and being thorough enough to make sure every nut and bolt is tight in a complete build, along with being able to visualize the entire project even before you start it. Restoration and custom work is a different world than the ASE dealership guys live in.

You know, you're rapidly knocking down all my lame excuses that keep me from trying to put an appropriate resume together. I may just be a "driveway" guy, but at the same time I'm a driveway guy with a few projects under my belt, and a technical background.

Argh!
