Why do you need a frame? There should be four rivnuts in the tailgate to attach the license plate. Or are you just looking for a vanity frame?

Metal tag is screwed to tailgate and dirt and crap gets behind it and it's like sandpaper.

On my D90 i put 4 small teflon spacers behind the plate to move it away from the sheetmetal. Allows the dirt to wash away and not rub the body. Just a thought.

I just finished painting my rear lower tailgate and have the same issue. I don't remember seeing a rear license plate holder on any of the RRC I've parted ..... I plan on using small plastic spacers between the plate and the door.

I wonder if a front plate holder with the tabs cutoff will work? It should.

Land Rover has a part for this. It is a quarter in rubber gasket thing that is cut out in the shape of the license plate with a Land Rover logo design in it.

I love them. Unfortunately I have no spares to part ways with.
