Wanted: Range Rover Classic SWB

Looking for a 93-95 Range Rover Classic SWB in fair to good condition. I want a running, drivable project, little or no rust, 140K miles or less, coil spring conversion already done, as stock as possible and can pass safety inspection in VA. Contact me with any leads. Thanks in advance!

Matt

Try Dallas TX Craigslist. There was a really nice 93 on there last week. Just what you are looking for.
Forget looking anywhere in the mid atlantic they are all rust pots.

Will do, thanks Bill. I missed one today here locally, but I think it was pretty rusty, it was cheap though!

Hm just checked. All LWBs. Some pretty good ones too, but no SWB.

Can anyone explain why most RRC have floorboard rust? Obviously moisture and metal, but why is it more serious on this model? I have looked at a few, and underneath looks fine, but under the floor mats its horrible. Can this even be repaired, how? This thread below would be a good example of what I am referring to (not the vehicle, just the rust).

The factory pad under the carpet holds moisture like a sponge. Mine also had spots in the front passenger floor. I just riveted a patch panel on temporarily until it can be addressed properly

weren't all 93-94 LWB and 95 had both LWB and SWB?
I have a 91 SWB with 128k and repairs to the floors as well as rear seat belt anchors already done.
I had the car listed in vehicles for sale under "a smattering of rovers for sale" with some pictures and a list of issues.
I have an "as-is" price of $1500, but could also perform the additional repairs with the buyers input, ie: choice of brand of springs and shocks, what type of brake pads and rotors, stainless or mild steel exhaust....

Steel, poorly sealed/painted, covered with a thick layer of incredibly hydroscopic material. Add years of neglect, road salts, damaged seals and resultant leaks to the mixture. The advantage is it is mostly flat sheet that can be fabbed somewhat easily for replacement. I've got a '90 and a '93 LWB. Both have very little rust issues. One came out of Lousiana and the other was mostly garaged in Richmond. The SWB is getting stripped of the interior, rust converted, primed and epoxied before thinner material (probably marine grade) is installed. The LWB sits waiting for it's turn in the project pool.

Thanks for the replies. Is floor rust manageable? How would you treat it? Is there replacement foot wells for RRC's?

If it isnt too bad, most people just cut out the bad and weld sheet metal in.
Hopefully catch it before it gets to the sill.
It usually runs along the seam where the mudflap is attached.

I have a '95 RRC LWB, if you're interested. It's got < 140k, EAS converted to coils, good runner, but definitely a project.
