Wanted: R380 or LT77 for project

Looking to buy defender style R380 or LT77 for project. I will also need a LT230 transfercase. The 1.2 version should be fine.
I am located in CT, please PM me with what you have.
Thanks
Ernie

Wes (midturtle) has an R380 mated to an LT230 for sale in Nashville.
It is listed in the for sale section and was still available as of January of this year.

I have a very good R380, no reported synchro issues that has between 60-70K on it. I also have a higher mileage (~94K) LT230 that is in fine shape as it was on my 90. I got a new R380 from Ashcroft before I found the used R380 otherwise I would have used it. It seems in very good shape. Let me know if you are interested--I plan to post for sale in the next week or so.

Chris

Ernie, I have done this before. Just remember you need a short bell housing lt77 or r380. Like the 200tdi setup. Rob Dassler May have one. A standard NAS trans will not fit. I also used a 1.2 t-case with stock 4.71 gears. IT was still really low. If I kept the truck I would have looked for even a higher ratio t-case to try as well.

Thanks for the info. Does ashcroft or someone sell a shorter input shaft in case I cannot find a "short version" LT77 or R380?

X2... Rob built me one a few years back as well. And I can tell you his trans shifted better then my brand new crate r-380 from the factory. The 1-2 shift sucked from new and still does....
