Wanted nice D90

New to this forum, I owned a 93 D90 when they were first brought into the US in 1993.
Should've never sold it (in 97) so now I really want one again

Not in a rush as I really want to find the right one (no yellow, low miles, no stories)
Must be the convertible version, any soft tops combo will do (I leave in So Cal)

Q#1 I'm thinking stick shift like I use to have 93-96, should I go with 97 auto instead?
Q#2 Copley's got very nice one, is the premium price there worth it?
Q#3 If you know of the right vehicle available in the next few months will you please LMK.
Q#4 Is there something to "really" look for? and/or to "avoid"?

I thank you very much in advance as this D90 thing is in me...and has been for 20 years!

Laurent

PM sent.

I think regarding #3 you have time on your hands so check a bunch of vehicles out before you buy. Time is always a good thing to have on your side so you don't do an impulse buy. I think Ron P. has a portofinio red one for sale that looks like a nice truck.

No NAS 90s in '93....did you have a 110? They were available in 1993 (but not the 90). If not, sounds like it was either a '94 or '95 which are the only years they produced the 5-speed. Skipped '96 (no Defenders at all) and came back in '97 with the auto only.

Welcome back! Well...I like the 5-speed, but that's just a personal preference. Really it comes down to what you want and what you'll use it for. I do like the NAS trucks with their cage/etc for added safety, but certainly any ROW trucks are nice too. The main thing to avoid is rust, I always say that mechanicals can be sorted relatively easily but rust is a pain in the arse.

If you like Station Wagons and diesels you can look to the mid 80's imports coming in, you can get a sweet rebuilt truck for a similar price to a NAS truck.
