Wanted: NAS 110 under $30k

Hi everyone-
Its time to expand the stable, so I'm looking out for a NAS 110 under 30k. The only way I'll pay more is if its already fitted with a 300tdi or a 2.8 TGV (or a TDV8! )

Its going to be a restoration project, so condition is not an issue, and I dont expect a low-mile creampuff at this price point. The only thing is that I want price to reflect conditon, I dont want to pay 30k for a basket case non-runner!

I track the major sites, but would appreicate a lead on the right truck if someone sees something for sale before I do or knows of something local to them. I'll be more than happy to provide a nice gratuity for your efforts!

jim, i saw one for sale on auto trader lately. he was 35k obo. a little over 100k. there was also one not too long ago on ebay for pretty reasonable money, it was right in your price range. i will keep my eyes open for you. i am also shopping for one but really don't want to have to put alot of work in it. i was talking with landrovered on this site and he has a rolling chasis and 110 body... give him a try. good luck.

I will keep my eyes out. ECR is going to be your competition in buying something like that. Why not make Yeastie into a 110? The price difference will more than buy the extra parts, especially if you are buying a new frame for a rusted out 30k 110.

I'm actually thinking about doing both. Right now, I would like to turn yeastie into a hi-cap. A rover trio would suit me fine!

I want the NAS 110 for the cage and the cache - especially for insurance purposes. I'll have a lot of money into any 110 whether restored or built up, and I think a NAS truck will be a better "known quantity" for an insurance company and be more likely to protect my investment should disaster strike.

I made an offer on a truck in NJ, but I think the guy sold to someone who wanted to pay him more. Fair enough, the truck was pretty rusty with 150k on it, so I only could justify it if it was low-priced.

Autotrader has been giving me fits lately - it always links back to automart. That must be new.

I found my 110, #64 and ECR does not buy vehicles, so it won't be ECR you have to look out for, its the 10,000 other folks that are looking for the exact same thing.

Ha ha - sure, but I'm counting on my charming personality and irresistability to be deciding factor.

I might be waiting awhile...

If you decide to go the "build one" route let me know, we have a lot of NAS 110 parts.

I thought your guys (ECR) had a thing on the website looking for less than pristine 110s for rebuild?

We did, that because I was looking for a 110 for myself.
I have one now (a very burnt but workable 110).

Its funny how people read stuff into text on a web. I wanted a 110 to build up because I want to be able to haul the kid and dog around easier than I can with my 90... and suddenly ECR is going to be a rival for anyone buying a junk 110.
I just find that really funny how much people read into a few lines of text on a page.

well, you have to admit you guys do awesome work on rebuilding 110's so it's easy to see you guys making the jump into building and selling...

dogs in kids in a 110, now you've got me starting to think... i can have kids so I can justify picking up a 110 to the wife... worth a shot, whats the worst that can happen!

83 RHD 110 for sale $13,000

Hi Everyone:

I have a legally imported (EPA, Customs and NC DMV paper work all in order) RHD 110 for sale at the moment but I may keep it - waffling back and forth. The truck is in pretty good shape although certainly not a show truck. The interior is in good shape with the door panels being the only areas that need immediate attention (I've taken out the bench seats and only re-done the front two rows - I still have the benches in fairly good shape but they are in Brushwood trim while the new seats are in Moorland from Exmoor). The exterior paint is surprisingly nice considering the age of the truck but I'd give it a paint job at some point. The only real areas of concern that I know of are: small hole (thumb size) in bulkhead at window pillar and the pieces behind the sills need to be patched or replaced and the chassis which has some weak spots - probably could be patched but for under $5k I'd go for a galvanized Richards chassis (through DAP) and be done with it. Also, the door frames need to be patch welded and some skin work done - or - you could buy new series III or Defender doors (the door tops are in really good shape and could easily be sold or used on Series III bottoms)(note that two-piece rear doors are hard to come by - best repair the ones on the truck. Rovah Farm has door frame for $40 per 3ft section.

This is a great truck but I have 2 RRCs and a DII and just don't need a project at this time. If no one is interested, I'll just keep it and work on it here and there.

Send email for Pics - I have some here but can't resize to upload.

Thanks, Gavin

Sorry Mike, I misunderstood, I thought it was in the plural when I read it so I assumed . . . .

No apology needed. I wasn't really speaking to that specific case. It was a general thing I find funny about how the web works.

No interest, I sold the one I had. Sure, I miss her, but her new owner is treating her well.

Got one lined up- #145. Now I just have to finalize the purchase and stuff. I got lucky, a truck I had seen several months ago became available again after a buyer backed out. Of course I can't play with it until I get home from Russia. Oh well, such is life.

The truck needs restoration, and it will get the works just like the yellow truck. Definitely a 300tdi, a galvanized chassis, and almost certainly a different color.

Congrats! That didn't take too long at all. When do you get back from Russia?

I dont get back until August, so my wife is going to have to go pick it up. Kind of like sending your wife to pick up your new girlfriend at the airport I know...
