Wanted Long Range Fuel Tank Replacement

My current tank is rusted and leaking. I really would like a long range tank replacement. But you know. I am the newbie so looking for experience and advice.

Not real keen on Jerry cans on roof rack and or in cabin.

contact frontrunner USA. the other big name I can think of is long ranger (oz), but I don't think they have a US distributor. Then there are UK options.

Are you looking to replace a stock tank with greater capacity?

Yes. If I am going to spend money might as well spend a little more and get greater capacity.

Frontrunner makes a nice tank but for that money, I would build my own out of stainless steel instead. I don't like the idea of putting plastic tanks in the wheel well, no matter how tough the ABS or whatever they use.

I agree. I would only use steel for undercarriage tanks.

If you are driving a series/defender truck then you might want to look at a thread on G&R forum for a group buy of aluminum tanks fitted under the seatbox. A few were made for larger capacity.

Find a local tank fabricator for boats. You can find one near every major waterfront city.

Have one of the guys importing rigs from UK hook you up to save shipping.

No affiliation, just found them during one of those moments when a search led me down a rabbit hole.

Has anyone ordered anything from the safari-equip guys? Do they have a US distributor?

They seem to have every possible tank configuration, some really nice window guards, and a swing out rear half door.
