How will you attach it to the plate on your carrier?

Not sure though, since it's meant to lay flat, I would think that the locking arm is hinged on the end that would be the bottom plate of your tire carrier. In essence, you wouldn't be able to swing the arm open as it is now since the plate is in the way. You'd have to cut the arm off, shorten it and re-hinge it onto the plate.

Drill the holes to match the mounting brackets of the SG of course. Measure twice, drill once (well, four holes).

Check my post above. I don't think you will be able to swing the arm open since this thing is made to lay flat. This is probably meant for roof rack applications.

You two are always so positive. I had already e-mailed RN after I saw what Thomas posted to see if they had any further details on it, but thanks! I guess we'll see. I have a few back-up solutions as well, just need pricing on them.

Horsey, you should thank me. I just saved you over $100 that you can now use for more badger gear.

What did you email RN?

Dear RN,

Obviously from looking at the picture I know this accessory won't work but I was wondering if we could be friends?

Yours truly,

Horsey

Thank you again Brian for your infinite wisdom. Wasn't going to buy tonight before taking measurements and hearing back from them on further details anyway, but you can be second hero behind Thomas.

Again, Horsey, just proving to you that you know nothing...Keep writing those chain letters to RN and see if they respond. Maybe you should tell them that you need more accessories to hold the ones you already have and that finding gas in NYC is so tough that you need to carry these in addition to your auxiliary gas tank.

Second hero behind Tom? Sounds like a super gay train. Who is the caboose?

I know you're slow, Horsey. I won't fault you for that anymore since you can't help it. I'll just let RN get back to you and tell you how much of a fool you are for not looking at the picture and figuring it out for yourself.

You know what, don't cry yet, maybe you can make a crayon drawing of it on your truck and imagine how cool that one accessory could have looked in downtown Manhattan.

Brian, again...still not making sense. As I said already I was going to take measurements and wait to hear back from them before making a decision...not sure what's up your ass.

Horsey, why would you even have to take measurements when it clearly won't work? Is it just so you can use your Little Tikes measuring tape for the first time?

Crayon drawing and little tikes = awesome

------ Follow up post added May 16th, 2011 06:24 PM ------

The measurements really make no sense. What are you going to do with the measurements? 24 by 2 by 6. There you go. You have measurements. Put them in your speak and spell and let me know what you come up with.

Josh not sure what design you favor. I got a couple of cool aluminum jerry can holders from Martyn @ Adventure trailers. Very nice-and fit both regular cans like yours and Scepter MFC's.

They offered powder coated black, or mine are natural aluminum. They are around $100 ea as I recall which given the old army od ones seem to be nearly $50 on ebay now seems like a deal. Can be mounted @ any angle and lockable.

Just wanted to second this recommendation...
