Wanted defender front sway bar setup

Looking for a cheap front sway bar setup for my defender. Anything off of a disco 1 and a rrc will work. I can buy it new, but the $70 in shipping from the uk is bothering me. Thanks

Any local pick-n-pulls near you?

Most run of the mill D1s will still have everything you need(bushings prob still good, too)

Yeah, you guys might get a lot more in the yards then we do. I don't see many disco1's in Austin. I figured I would also need the whole front axle / steering box also if I plan on converting my RHD 130 next year.

Might be easy to swap the front axle but yrm makes the parts that you weld to your axle to add the front sway. Easy enough to put on. It would take less time than changing out the front axle. Arent Defender axles stronger than Disco axles anyway?

I used car-part when I got my LS engine (11k miles out of North Dakota). From my understanding, the Disco2 started in 1998. So, I would need something that is a disco1, right (pre 1998)? Is the steering box out of a disco 1 the same as a defender also? If I'm going to do this, I might as well plan ahead...

Both Disco 1 and 2 were sold in 1998 MY.

Yes, steering box is the same.

You can't use Disco 2 parts, so don't get them from a Disco 2!!

They are completely different. There are no nuances.

D1 look a bit different than DIIs. From a distance the door handles will give it away. They are more or less completely different vehicles. DIIs are garbage, but I loved driving mine.

D-IIs actually started ‘99, but D-I did overlap that year.

I would think any NAS Discovery 1 94-99 would have everything you need for a LHD swap and sway bars.
Also, any NAS RRC 91-95 would also work.(no P38s)

Like the others said, you dont want anything from a D2!
