Wanted: Defender A-Bar

Looking for an A Bar for my 1988 110 located in NJ. These things line the streets in the UK, unfortunately I'm in NJ. Thanks.

which a bar?

bumper?

A-bar section of the roll cage that mounts around the windshield? If so, which one?

Welcome. Let's see some pics of your truck! There are many of us local-ish to you, and we have regular meet-ups.

Thanks for your comments, Mr. Helper. I would like an a-bar to mount on my front bumper so that I can hang a few lights. Perhaps this part is not commonly referred to as an a-bar here in the US?

Precisely. A quick trip to e-Bay shows many for sale, however, the cost of shipping it to the US is just ridiculous.

Welcome to the Source, OP.
I am neither thin skinned nor paranoid, rather, I just did not appreciate your comment, which seemed a bit impertinent. Thumper said it best, "If you can’t say something nice…don’t say nothin at all." In the spirit of détente, let's move forward.

So I normally shake my head and move on, but why didn't you take your own advice of moving on if you felt so victimized after my initial post?

Good lord, stop being a victim. I make a living helping people out and my post was never intended to be "snarky."

Theres a lot of good people on here that would give their shirt off their backs for a fellow Rover owner.

That is precisely what I was thinking when I read the snarky response. Is there some secret initiation that I must endure to engage in civil dialogue or is it the intent of some members of this forum to snipe and agitate to provoke useless rhetoric?

Regardless, I don't suffer fools well, and this will be my last post on the subject.

Ok, so you want an American Asshole, you got it.

Since you know so much about me, let me write something about you. You're the idiot who drives down the lane thats about to end in a construction site knowing you should merge, cutting everyone off because your time is more valuable. You're the idiot who only holds doors, apologizes, or acknowledges people only when someone is watching or you think you will receive credit for it. I bet you wear sunglasses indoors. Its ok, go ahead and deny it.

In fact, You're so damn insecure you mistook a post saying nice first impression to make you feel better.

A person who is an ass themselves automatically assumes everyone is out to get them. Even after told otherwise, you still think everyone is out to get you.

You're using popular slang that is usually thrown out in internet arguments, which tells me you're either a juvenile or act like one or both.

Ive been called a fool before and will probably be called a fool again. But I'll tell you a fool is someone who refuses to listed to sage counsel. A fool is one who opens his big yapper before he listens to sage counsel. A fool is someone who has to be right every time and wants to let everyone know he's right. A fool is someone who opens his yapper before he does his homework. Me? Oh yeah, Im the fool who has traveled around the world, who has fought and bled for this country, who has lost his friends in those remote places defending even your right to say whatever the frick you want to say in a foreign country.

Having been in those places, I will say the my targets were often very similar; they acted an ass to the most helpless and thought nothing of anyone but themselves. Your behavior online is telling. It is much more "manly" to be cordial to strangers, the weak and poor, and the down and out than kiss ass to those with money and authority. I bet you do that, don't you?

So as I told you before, I am in the people helping business. So heres some advice: Stop being an ass or go back to the hole you came from.

And knowing your types, you will read this and respond, though you so graciously "will not suffer fools."

Good lord. If this post makes me a fool, then it was worth the time. I apologize to the rest of the forum.

I have very little interest in this argument but that is AWESOME. You don't have the part, yet you got the part ….guy asks for an "A"bar and he gets an "A" hole. lol. Well written indeed.
