Well there never was a 110 Auto officially. Assume you want a two door as you don't say otherwise. Your best bet is an ex mod that you can improve with new seats, drivetrain out of say a RRC or D1.
But your budget is too low.

I would double that budget and you'll be in a good place to find the right truck.

I've got an 86 110 CSW on consignment within your budget. It's got a 3.5 twin carb V8 and LT77. It's also LHD.

Not within your current budget but something you might consider given it needs nothing to be a solid reliable daily. PM if you want to discuss.

I am pretty new to the whole scene but its definitely bit me....I know what I like to look at visually so I know i want one of these and I live too close to Moab to not have one. I have been stalking the threads for weeks now and am trying to learn a little but I didnt know about the Automatic not being a stock option....its not a necessity but just something I think I would like more. Also the LHD isnt a must but preferred. I have an option to buy a LHD ex Mod in the UK currently but dont want to wait and really dont want 2 dr. I figured if I wasnt chasing for a NAS then i could get close to the budget but I definitely appreciate all of your advice since i know you guys know your stuff. In a perfect world with a perfect budget I would have that rivermike guy build me one....love that kinda stuff and his cream 2dr is tempting but i think i really need the doors. Thanks for all the advice Ill keep watching ebay and craigslist and this forum daily.

I don't know if you are in a hurry but I have four 110 being shipped over in Aril, expect them here in June. All of them are LHD 5 door.

Three are are in extremely good condition (less then 100K miles) and above the budget you mentioned. All of them have the original seats, and even carpet in the loading space. See picture of the green one. This is a V8.

The fourth is still in very good condition but more miles, a little bit of rust on some door frames but nothing serious. Frame is solid, so is bulkhead. See picture of the white one. Price Is 23K including MI title. This is a V8. I know a little above your budget but this car does not need any work before you want to use it.

If you are interested, let me know and I can give you more information.

X2 your talking decent 90 money there... And by decent I mean in need of serious work. Move up to $30K and you just might be able to squeeze in a 87/88 110 with a v8. I mean that's an expensive daily driver if your budget is sub $20k. You're going to spend like $3500/year in fuel alone

Here's some contrarian advice from someone who daily-drove Defenders in Salt Lake (up and over Parleys) every day for years.

Forget about the automatic and forget about anything with a 2.5NA motor and forget about carbureted V8s. If this is a daily driver, you really want a turbocharged diesel (200Tdi, 300Tdi, OM617), or a fuel-injected V8. Even those diesels will be rough. Defenders just suck as DDs, especially at Salt Lake altitude. Yes, you can do it. I did it. But it sucks. It's loud, slow, and often cold. I eventually bought a Subaru WRX just for my commute from Park City to WVC.

If using a Defender as a DD is the only way you can make it work, I predict your time with this marquee will be short. Save your pennies, buy a beater Honda or Suby to drive to work and buy a Defender as a weekend truck.

Congrats on the purchase- post photos!

JRose609 just had his 110 converted from RHD to LHD in Portland. He's in Boise so you might give him a shout.
