You're right, it is a re-skinned D1. However, I think it may be build date related as well. My '95 RRC LWB, which was built in late '94, had the old style connections, i.e., round connector, separate ground wire. I had thought about hacking the wiring, but the arm was also slightly different, so I decided against swapping.
The fleabay motor I bought, I suspect was from a D1, as it had a mounting bracket as well and the arm was much shorter, but connectors were the same, and ground wire was integrated. I'm guessing you don't have any for the '95 RRC?
